He was a great TN Vols player in that time of NO TV time for us. Only radio.
Yep. I can remember walking around the house with the radio trying to get a clear signal. Had to actually go outside to get the Reds broadcast. Simple times...good times. Miss those good ol' days.

I couldn't get into the Vols until the 1970s bc no TV games until then.
We might get lucky & see them in a Bowl Game but that was pretty much it.

When TN was playing that Notre Dame game in the late 70s me & a friend called up to New York city to ABC and asked them to put the game on down here. They laughed.

I honestly don’t know how impressive this is, but I’m happy for them and proud of them!
It’s a great story really. I think this is, what, Mad’ll know… year three of even having a team? Played one year a division lower in league two in their first year as a professional team, moved up to league one the next year, won the league the year after that. Think of it like Ryan Reynolds and Rob MacElhenney’s team if you’ve ever heard anything about Welcome to Wrexham. A quick rise to the top of the lower division.
