OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

I don’t really care about stars anymore. I just want dudes that want to play for Tennessee and dudes that fit Heupel’s system. Feels like we need to spend all of our money on defense and save a little to fill out the OL. Most RB can do well in the system and a QB that can hit the deep ball. Heupel can scheme guys open so we don’t necessarily need top end talent at the skill positions.

We always have at least a 4 star QB on the roster lol
Sure could've fooled me for a lot of years...
Crompton was a bust overall
Bray was a head case
Dobbs was good but not great.

Now the WTH crowd.

Dormady
Peterman
Rick Clausen

I'm sure there was more during the dark age.

Justin Worley I respected, not the most talented but played his ass off.

Bray done more with less. Clausen walked into a loaded team that just needed a decent QB... Never was impressed with Ainge just the fact his Uncle was Danny ..
I was at the Omni when Danny went the length of the court to beat Notre Dame. Same night the Vols played VA and Ralph Sampson.

Matt Simms…

Weird how Tennessee fans put all their eggs in a basket slobbering over Nico 3 years ago and now are doing the same thing over Brandon... People need to pump the brakes because CJH doesn't have a rep of starting a true FRESHMAN QB... Plus that's toal disrespect towards G.M. from the fan base.
You would expect anything less?

Some of that may be because of the difficulty learning the system, with the increased speed of the game at this level. Not many true freshmen succeed when forced into action.
