Y’all feel better about the Oklahoma loss now?

True and the sheep can’t see it or get their panties in a wad when ball knowers point it out!

It's very amusing that all the "ball knowers" and those calling themselves "realistic" are endlessly negative regardless of the situation while the "sheep" include anyone who can see it both ways but will generally take a positive viewpoint. Funny how that works.

Never feel good about a loss. OU proved they are a legit playoff team, if that's what you mean but I think everyone already knew they were a good team.

OU is much better than we thought
Not really…we out gained them by 100 yards but turned the ball over in critical times…it will always leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Now the Bama fans can enjoy that feeling - they outgained OU bumpy almost 200 yards but those turnovers killed.

7 wins and zero quality wins. OU could have been a quality win. I really don't see how they have us ranked, based on what? We score a lot of points? These next 2 I consider potential quality wins, winning in the swamp for the Vols is never easy.

I certainly think Heupel has played games towards the end of the game not to lose, but then even many good and great coaches have done that. It's knowing when to do it is when it's . . I'm sure the Falcons wish they would have done that in their last SuperBowl. Spurrier did it the entire second half against us in 1996. Bill Parcells was a master at it when he coached the Giants. Hell, Ryan Day did it last year in the NC game.

They've been a good team all year, but their offense sucks. Same thing happened to Ala that it did us. We absolutely dominated the stats, but turnovers killed both teams. If OU doesn't force turnovers, they are a pretty average team. But, they do and they deserve the credit for it

They are not coached well enough to beat really good teams.
Well, that’s the prime question Vol fans are starting to align on different sides of. We need better players first and foremost. I also think we need better in game decision making and execution. It all ends up at the feet of the head coach. Ultimately the wins & losses will determine what happens. The results of these next two games will tell which direction the program is heading.

Any time we lose people always say it’s because of coaching. Tennessee had the Georgia game won. Kicker just has to do his job.

Amen. The post you replied to is complete idiocy. Just hit the very markable fg against UGA and we win. Hit an even easier chip shot against Oklahoma and that game could absolutely swing our way at the end.

Clearly this is a young person looking for positivity by starting this thread. He will learn in time. Important lesson for anyone in sports and in life - losing is going to happen. However, when Ross Perot was asked what kind of people he looked for, he said people who love to win and hate to lose.

Those are two different things. Lots of people love to win, not many hate to lose.

Learn to hate to lose and work hard to win every chance you get.

Let those loses burn and motivate you.

I understand. But please consider this. We have had years where we COULD have won every game. We are now at the POINT where we SHOULD have won every game. That shows a team on an upward trajectory
Im not saying it hasn’t gotten better. I’m honestly much happier with the on field product. I think some staff changes need to happen but i don’t want Heupel gone. But it’s still a tough loss to take and just because they beat bama doesnt make me feel better. It actually makes it worse. Without the mistakes and self inflicted errors we could be undefeated right now. Worst case scenario we should have 1 loss and in prime position for the playoff.

Changes the whole complexion of the OU game as well. We have a greater chance of winning that game as well. That said our Oline let us down that game

you can't blame it on the kicker at the end when you scored 21 on them in just the 1st quarter. the fact is Georgia is a very well coached team and they came all the way back from that ON THE ROAD.

in 1000 years you would NEVER see Tennessee have the resolve and grit that it takes to do that.

the fact that Tennessee had to rely on its kicker to win the game at the end speaks volumes to the coaching job Kirby Smart has done.
Is kicker a problem for us?

Are you trusting Gilbert in any high pressure moment?

Do you think most other elite programs have this issue?
