Y’all feel better about the Oklahoma loss now?

Heupel plays not to lose he gets the lead and goes conservative and slows it down that's why he gets in so many overtimes, he only goes for the jugular when he can run up the score on teams and piss off the other teams coach, what does it matter if you blow out a nobody team? same old song and dance every year good offense, bad defense, bad offense, good defense.

We should’ve beaten them by multiple touchdowns. So no it doesnt make me feel any better.
I understand. But please consider this. We have had years where we COULD have won every game. We are now at the POINT where we SHOULD have won every game. That shows a team on an upward trajectory

The hope for changing that mismatch in offense/defense every year is recruiting recruiting, and recruiting. I hope that is getting us closer.

Sorry that this didn’t work out how you envisioned Tsar, I get your point but it doesn’t really make me feel better either, sorry.
🤷‍♂️
I understand. I guess all I meant to say that if Bama had crushed OU handily; it would have led to real despair among Vol fans. At least we know we didn’t lose to a clown team like we did in the years we lost to Vandy, Kentucky, and Georgia Southern.
It make a difference to me at least. I am not a fan of moral victories and don’t see this as one. It just shows that maybe things aren’t as bad as they appeared the Sunday after OU beat us

OU is much better than we thought
I don’t feel better because I feel like we were the better team that day and lost. We didn’t get beat by them as much as we had self inflicted mistakes that cost us the game.

Our play calling changed as a result of these mistakes. We should have stuck with the first quarter play calling as the underneath game was working.

No. We should have beaten Oklahoma. All yesterday showed was that Alabama isn't anything close to a top 5 team.

The most frustrating thing about yesterday was watching how Georgia has elevated their game as the season has gone on and the fact that we had them beaten. UGa could win the whole thing, and should never have left Neyland with a win.

THIS! Why is it we don't see this type of improvement in TN teams as the year goes along? When was the last time TN played better in Nov-Dec than it did in Sep?

My point was more about UGa than ripping UT, but a simple answer is that there are more tough games in Oct-Nov. I'd bet if you looked at all P4 teams, the vast majority of good programs are far better early than they are late in the season when injuries and tougher competition are realities.

This group was flawed from the start between the loss of defensive talent, QB issues, and injuries, and we all knew it. Unfortunately, the flaws have all seems to come back to bite us at the worst times this year.

Should have beat GA, Could have beat AL, and should have beat OU. It was a night game in Neyland and we lost it! Pathetic!

Any time we lose people always say it’s because of coaching. Tennessee had the Georgia game won. Kicker just has to do his job.
you can't blame it on the kicker at the end when you scored 21 on them in just the 1st quarter. the fact is Georgia is a very well coached team and they came all the way back from that ON THE ROAD.

in 1000 years you would NEVER see Tennessee have the resolve and grit that it takes to do that.

the fact that Tennessee had to rely on its kicker to win the game at the end speaks volumes to the coaching job Kirby Smart has done.

True and the sheep can’t see it or get their panties in a wad when ball knowers point it out!
