no, just no. Florida lost to the lowly Wildcats. they didn't just lose to them they got blown the hell out of the building. they scored 7 points on the same Kentucky team we scored 56 on.

if we lose to this Florida team it's the end of Tennessee football. mark my words. next year will be like 2017 if we cannot beat this Gators team.
My guess is they have nothing left to play for except to protect the fact we have not beat them at home in ages. They will play like their hair is on fire coming out. The first sign of real trouble and I do think we get up a couple of scores then they will phone it in and we beat them maybe not beat down but fairly easily. Just my 2 cents.

Good Lord. “The end of Tennessee football…” Really? If it didn’t end when we lost to Georgia State, it ain’t ending if we lose to Florida. Where do you people get these ideas?

I agree this is absolutely what should happen and what I think will happen.

But we should be paying a coaching staff millions of dollars to handle a situation like "they will play like their hair is on fire" like this is literally what we pay coaches to teach is how to win under these situations. we aren't playing in Athens against the best team in the SEC. we are playing a **** team with no head coach and nothing to live for.

so then we can all agree that something drastic needs to happen to our coaching staff if we lose to these Gators? like we can all agree on that right now and not have stupid "negavol" name-calling later?
I think most agree there needs to be some strategic changes in the staff whether we lose to the Gators or not. Can’t help you on negavol. Too many of them around and that name will be available forever.

I believe Florida has quit, but I still will believe we will win there when I see it. If we don't win against this Florida team, I don't know when we will beat them in Gainesville. They will get a really good coach I'm sure

I'm not underestimating them. I'm flat out saying we better damn well beat them. there's absolutely no excuse that saves Heupel's job if we lose to them this year. this is easily the most beatable Florida team that possibly Tennessee has ever faced. certainly the most beatable since Steve Spurrier got there.

So if we lose that game Heupel should be fired? Should White even let him get on the plane home or do it right in the tarmac?

I suppose only a "sunshine pumper" would disagree with that kind of thoughtful analysis.

it would be more of an embarrassment to the program than losing to Vandy this year. recruiting would be hurt.

i said it before that 2026 could be 2017 all over again if we sh!t the bed the rest of this season.

yeah I believe that getting rid of Heupel for a loss against 3-7 Florida when you're supposed to be in contention for the playoff is 100% on the table. and I think any rational person could come to the same conclusion. that would be a gigantic step backwards in the building of this program if we lost to Florida this year. like a massive step backwards.
