Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

All this complaining when the Vols have squandered 3 games. Focus needs to be identifying the weaknesses, mitigate them the rest of this year and addressing them in the offseason. I would love to win out but I feel we will have issues doing that.
I agree.

A DC and a kicker away from having no more than one loss even with slanted officiating.

OSU lost two regular season games last year and clearly deserved to win the NC. We were not ready for that this year.

Let's focus on preparing for 2026 the rest of the way. Learn how to beat good teams again. There is only one left on the schedule. Play the guys with upside for that purpose.

Happy Wednesday

November 12, 2025: No matter your situation, deliberately dwell on thoughts of hope and blessings. Remember the good things and take heart that better things are ahead. Do your best to stay positive and keep a positive outlook. You are what you think. Psalm 31:24: Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

Dude if we get Cody I’ll be pissed…he hasn’t been the same in YEARS!..he was a wasted spot in my opinion like Chris taylor..I’d rather take Kyle and I’m not thrilled with that piece either
Cody is better than Micheal Conforto.😭

Also have viewed maybe Trent Grisham.. who knows I just want the BP fixed. Also read a Salary cap may not be in play in new CBA but bigger punishment for exceeding the threshold .... Luxury tax from hell

Notre Dame doesn't deserve to be at #9 in the CFP. They're there on name alone. Their schedule doesn't support the ranking. I hope they lose to Pitt this weekend.

Texas is also overrated. What sucks is being rated #10 means we probably don't jump them if Georgia thumps them this weekend.

Several teams in front of us that we are better than, but the most glaring is 3 loss Iowa. Given who our losses are to, we should be the highest ranked 3-loss team.

We need total chaos in college football the next few weeks with us winning out. We won't make the playoffs, but I want us to finish as the highest rated SEC team to miss the playoffs. Let's at least get a Florida bowl.
TX's fate, assuming they lose Saturday, will be determined by the A&M game. Regardless of how bad GA beats them, an A&M win gets them in, likewise if GA wins by 1 in 6OT it doesn't matter if they lose to A&M because they're out with 4 losses.

I'm not one of those that are clinging to playoff hopes this year, so it makes it easy for me to root for texas this week. F kirby and uga. Hope they miss the playoffs also.
Brings up an interesting question, what's actually better for the program going forward:

> 9-3 + Citrus Bowl win over USCw or Meatchicken and finish ranked about #10,

OR

> 9-3 + back into last playoff spot and lose in the first round again and finished ranked about #18

Last update on Pruitt's case was a judge ordered both parties to mediate and come to either a legal settlement or an outside-settlement which sometimes happens in such cases. The judge granted a preliminary injunction of his 6-year show-cause which typically suggests that he is likely to win his case on the merits.

I'm not positing any kind of opinion. Simply stating the facts of the case.
Truth is that Pruitt got in the middle of a fight between the higher powers and Fulmer. He really didn't do swat except leave himself exposed and trust people. The stuff he was accused of went on for eons and everywhere with the full knowledge of the higher powers and they used that as excuse to get rid of Fulmer after he extended his own contract. I mean we turned ourselves in?

I understand the context here but, who are these people you're talking about?

I recall a coach named Fulmer, but other guy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ no clue. Name sounds like a bad local fruit that grows off the side of road in a random back water town in Alabama, a fruit whose roots are deep. A taproot, so deep. With one singular branch. Almost exactly like a WV family tree.

If they trade teoscar I’ll be shocked but if they do it’s because his stock is high and they want to capitalize on that..I get it but i don’t understand the shuffling pieces in the OF when our bullpen needs a overhaul entirely
Passan's idea is interesting that the Dodgers go after Edwin Díaz in the FA market. But it sucks that they just spent big money last year signing a closer and he crapped the bed.

I could see that. At this point I honestly feel bad for pruitt. What he did wasnt THAT bad, and I just think he’s not cut to be a HC, but he definitely shouldn’t be shunned from coaching over 60k

The state came and took away half of the Whitaker family recently.

Don't think Tanner Scott is a closer, he is more of a 8th inning set up guy... Question is does Sasaki stay in closers role or does he go back to starting?

Snell
Glasnow
Yamamoto
Ohtani
Sheehan

Probably starting rotation plus 3 starters coming back off injury.

Yeah, and we'll need every one, it's just how it goes with injuries now. As much closer ability as Sasaki has shown, I don't think you can waste his starter potential. And you're right about Scott.

Give me a 10 win season and a bowl win.
