So Mavericks OWNERSHIP didn't want to invest all that money in Luka and had Harrison to trade Luka. Now Luka is balling out in L.A. and Mavericks are struggling, then Harrison is the scapegoat for all of it.![]()
I agree Harrison should be fired but the Ownership should be taking heat from the MEDIA and Mavericks fans. Which I'm neither one.. .Management signed off on it, but this is not scapegoat stuff. This is ultimately on Harrison. He's the basketball guy. Ownership does not know hoops. They are a group that has made a fortune trusting the industry-specific expertise of the managers they have installed over various businesses. They trusted Nico, too. He ruined that trust. He's gotta go.
They messed up by not relying on Dirk and Cuban as sounding boards for this move, but why wouldn't you fire the basketball guy who made the most inexplicable personnel move of all time?
Is that real? What is the context for that?
Haralabob REALLY wanted Jrue back around 2020. He and Luka would've been the nastiest backcourt.

Mavericks rumors: Nico Harrison once placed Jrue Holiday in ‘same trade target tier’ as Nikola Jokic
Former Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison apparently once had Nikola Jokic and Jrue Holiday on the same level in his trade tiers.sports.yahoo.com
To be fair, its a rumor....
I gotta know what year this was.
If Nico was this bad, why didn't he get fleeced more? He made some pretty good trades.
Jrue has never had a PER over 20.
Jokic's lowest per was 21.5 his rookie sesson...
Luka and Jrue would have been nasty but if Nico made this comment in 2021 when he first got with Mavs, yikes....
