Preferred bowl opponent?

Football forum is the worst for bad takes. Before CFP, a lot more ppl cared about bowl games. All the sudden, we are supposed to be Natty or bust every season. 😂

I stand my comment the other day, Tennessee fans might really be the worst.

I have no shame in saying that I’d like to play someone inferior that we can beat the hell out of to end the season on a high note. Let’s play Iowa again.

This. A nice slow Big 10 team with an inflated record due to poor opposition. Absolute boat race in a warm weather environment

I doubt I'm gonna be bowling this year but that's the only thing that would get me off the couch at this point.

If we somehow end up with a game fairly local to me-where I can just drive to the game and then back home I may consider it.

Nobody is saying Natty or bust. What they’re saying is we should compete for a playoff spot every year, and getting into the playoffs gives you a shot at a Natty.

I don’t think, given the resources at our disposal and the investment put into this program, that being a top 10/top 12 team every year is an unrealistic or unreasonable expectation.

You boys will rally after beating Florida. Vols were set up last year by being sent to Ohio State in freezing conditions. Ohio State should have been sent to Knoxville for a dark mode game. A good bowl matchup can propel the Vols with high energy and momentum heading into 2026 with Bama and Texas playing in Knoxville. Round out the super recruiting class and cherry pick the portal and all whining and playoff envy will stop.

Been fighting online with dumb BIG 10 fans who claim Minnesota would beat Tennessee and deserves to be ranked over them..absolutely ridiculous. We would run them out the stadium. I wouldn't mind seeing it happen

It’s playoffs or bust. These bowl games are meaningless scrimmages that provide zero.

Given the state of the program for 15 of the last 20
years, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be a fringe top 15-20 team, which we are. It takes years to build a program back from nothing, especially in the age of NIL, which has added even more complexity to recruiting.

I think, especially this year, 9–3 or 8-4 is acceptable, given what we lost from last year’s team.

whoever it is I’d like to see Heupel openly treat the game like it’s a spring scrimmage. get everyone reps.

We're not making the playoffs so if the rest of the season and a bowl is so unimportant to you why don't you go find something else to do instead of wasting your time here telling everybody how meaningless it all is. Lol.

The whining will never stop. We could go undefeated and still get a few would find something to whine and cry about...

I would enjoy being matched up against Notre Dame this year and exposing them once again for being the chumps they are of college football.

Please, nobody cared about them before. The revisionist history on bowls is hilarious. As if anyone ever gave a damn about the Liberty Bowl or Music City Bowl, especially at a place like Tennessee.
Those are like preseason scrimmages - we’re already looking towards next fall
