This is a young team (shades of Summitt's baby vol squad) They have gone from a very experienced PG in Spencer to a freshman phenom. There is a leadership void that needs to be filled. That does not seem to be Coop's or Zee's strengths so contra to the "we don't need Ruby, we have freshmen!" crowd, that has been a loss.Agree. Coach has been mad at them all season, madder after each game. She also said they had a horrible practice thrown in. And they come out like this? Clearly they are not responding to whatever kind of chewings have been going on. Time to try something else.
The fouling is a great example Let's se,e did she ask them to foul more? Because that's what they're doing. She's been harping on fouling since last season, throughout the entire offseason, and the entire preseason. Yet it becomes a bigger problem every game. This is an example of how they are not responding to what she's laying down. It's not unexpected; it's a new group, lots of new faces but it's concerning that they're not responding and that things seem to be getting a little more unglued instead of more cohesive. Today they seem flat and uninterested.
I totally expect they'll come back and overwhelm UTM in the second half but this has still been concerning.
, How about D Wells little Sis.? You have to be happy for that family. Search nice folks who had a lot of misfortune over the years.

It was clear there was a problem when CKC really roasted her team after a 50 pt. win against ETSU. The staff is clearly having some issues in getting all the freshman with the proverbial "program."
Honestly, these growing pains should have been expected but a few outrageously (one in particular) overly optimistic posters set this tone and this first few games have been a reality check.
But, let's not all over react in the opposite direction. This batch of games have been tightly scheduled and the staff has not had much time to turn these games into teaching moments.
Too rational for me.This is a young team (shades of Summitt's baby vol squad) They have gone from a very experienced PG in Spencer to freshman phenom. If it is not broken, don't fix it. This should not be a game right now. Whoever wrote this game plan should be banned from writing another one for the rest of the year.I keep thinking CKC is working on something different this preseason than last. She said in the summer she wasn't trying to put as much of her system in before the season as she did last year. Also said she expected it to take a while to click with this team.
