Tennessee is not dictating pace. The press is passive and the offense is slow. This is actually a pace that Sara, Tess and Jewel would have been very comfortable in a year ago. Total Identity change from a year ago other than the mass substitutions which at this pace, doesn't really matter.

These first two games didn't look anything like what CKC said her philosophy was a year ago. At the pace we are playing, we might as well go with our best 7-8 players and play them 28-32 minutes a game and let the cards fall where they may. It makes no sense to go further down the bench if they are playing at 75% speed and working an offense in the half court for the best possible shot before shooting or attempting to score and playing a less aggressive form of the press.

UTM is also a VERY small team. can't even get the ball into the paint. vols have not looked right. i could see this being a tough year. zee hasn't looked good. robertson is a huge step down from ruby. is talaysia cooper eligible for the 2026 wnba draft?

it's VERY early but based on what i've seen so far the leadership/buy-in with jewel spear and sam spencer was better last year.

This is on the coaching staff. They have slowed the pace down to that of an average team. What happened to the Run and Jump on the press that got us so many 10 second calls last year. It has been non existant so far this year. This is the kind of Soft Pressure many of the coaches in the SEC use.
