I’m guessing UGA fans would say that was way too many seasons. I loved Richt being there… one of the few coaches at a big time program that Fulmer could actually beat here and there.
Im guessing you dont know Fulmer was 5-0 against teams ranked #1 during his tenure plus 44-37 against ranked teams
You're read to many whiney team forums

For the SEC coaches that had above a .750 win %, here is how Fulmer fared:

Richt = 3-5
Saban (LSU) = 1-2
Miles = 1-2
Spurrier = 3-7
Meyer = 0-4
Stallings = 2-1-1
Saban (Alabama) = 0-2

Total = 10-23-1 (.303)

You didnt repond to my post along with Fulmer's record against #1 ranked teams and against ranked teams. You just cherry picked coaches that carried your agenda.

If you want to defend Fulmer, have at it. I’m not interested. It was painfully obvious he wasn’t going to ever beat Meyer or Saban. It was checkers vs. chess. The 2008 Bama and Florida games in Neyland were an embarrassment. Outscored 59-15. He needed to go.

The East winning team of 2007 were outscored 100-37 by them

Richt is second only to Kirby at UGA all-time. The only thing Richt did not have was a natty. While Kirby has ramped it up a notch, any UGA fan truly unhappy with Richt has to be cousins to some our our VN fans. Kirby has about 5 more seasons to have a true total games comparison between the two, so if UGA sprinkles in a few sub-par seasons in today's landscape, won't be much separating them but a couple natty's.

Fulmer had 7 seasons of 15 or 16 (?) with 9 or less wins. Almost half. And we consider that the golden age of Vol ball outside Neyland. Only reason he got a pass was the one Natty and two SEC. Considering his recruiting prowess and rosters, he was the poster child for under-achieving.

As for Natty's Kirby didn't get his first until season 6 and went back to back.

Stop it! These facts you keep annoyingly quote are hurting the narrative that anything less than 10 wins and a playoff spot every year is a fireable offense.

He will leave when he leaves.
I guess all this TO of coaches has some checking stats.
If he goes 16-0 that will add 5 years.
Using stats is a double edge sword and the Franklin stats were good reason to fire.

What a mess Volnation can conjure up. Let's get through the rest of the season and see how we finish.

Fulmer got himself fired. Just like Majors got himself fired. For different reasons obviously. Kiffin bolting for his "dream" job actually was the catalyst for the next 10 years.

He certainly did. For averaging almost 10 wins a season while he was HC , he developed an entitled and spoiled fan base.
Unfortunately Haupel has done the same thing and the same entitled fans have their fangs out.

With all of the threads somehow related to CJH tenure here and posts in threads either leaning towards him being “run off by fan base” or another program picking him up, how long do you think he stays at Tennessee?

I, for one, originally thought he was a place holder until a better coach came along. It seems his coaching record topped out fast in year two. Although we made the playoffs last year, with the SEC going to nine games, it may be a while before we see as soft of a schedule we had last year.

Saying that, if we continuously win only 8/9 games a season, Volnation will look at Georgia and Ritch and, demand a change.
Ridiculous. 9 wins a year is 1 win away from making the playoffs. In some seasons 9 wins might even get us there. If we fire CJH, we deserve whatever CFB purgatory is coming our way.

The vast majority of fans do not want Heupel fired. The downside of having a huge social media fan base the small minority of fans try to make a lot of noise on it. But the reality is the fans and administration are behind Heupel and the staff. We have to continue to move in the right direction and Heupel has the support of the fans and administration. Recruiting and our young talented roster is every reason in the world to be very optimistic the future of our Tennessee Vols! GBO

Not even close to the same thing

Well, he’s going to finish 7-5 this year, with zero quality wins & losses to every team on the schedule with a pulse. Next year will be similar IMO, he might get 8 wins, at best. Then the ‘27 season will bottom out after all the momentum is gone after two bad years in a row & showing clear regression from the first few years. Danny will pull the plug & Tennessee will be at least a semi-attractive job again.

Facts against Top 25 teams:

2021 - 2022: 6 W, 5 L
2023 - 2025: 4 W, 8 L

2021 (1-4):
W- KY #18
L - FL #11
L - Ole Miss #13
L - AL #4
L - GA #1

2022 (5-1):
W - Pitt #17
W - FL #20
W - AL #3
W - KY #19
W - Clem #7
L - GA #3

2023 (1-3):
W - IA #17
L - AL #11
L - MO #14
L - GA #1

2024 (3-2):
W - NC St #24
W - OK #15
W - AL #7
L - GA #13
L - OSU #8

2025 (0-3): Through 9 games
L - GA #6
L - AL #6
L - OK #18
2024 would actually be 1-2 vs Top 25 teams. NC State & OU were both played in the beginning of the season before each team went on to have pathetic years.

Some of you are incapable of holding two things in your head as being true and also not linked to each other.
