With all of the threads somehow related to CJH tenure here and posts in threads either leaning towards him being “run off by fan base” or another program picking him up, how long do you think he stays at Tennessee?

I, for one, originally thought he was a place holder until a better coach came along. It seems his coaching record topped out fast in year two. Although we made the playoffs last year, with the SEC going to nine games, it may be a while before we see as soft of a schedule we had last year.

Saying that, if we continuously win only 8/9 games a season, Volnation will look at Georgia and Ritch and, demand a change.
Mark Richt made it 15 seasons. So using your logic Heupel will be here another 10 years.

I’m guessing UGA fans would say that was way too many seasons. I loved Richt being there… one of the few coaches at a big time program that Fulmer could actually beat here and there.

What would have been better? Firing and hiring over and over or keeping stability until the right coach show themselves?

It’s funny watching you go post to post commenting the same thing in the same order begging for attention comparing a coach with zero losing seasons to the previous coaches who had multiple.

You have such limited football knowledge your inability to give realistic comparisons to anyone else really is the funniest thing on this forum. It’s like a free clown show. 😂
You struggle with reading comprehension. Not one of those comparisons is comparing Heupel to any of his predecessors. They are comparing the current words and actions of you and people like you to the previous words and actions of you and people like you.

Also, just so we are clear, I know more about football from before I was born than you know about football since you became a fan.

A dynasty? Holy crap.
What, you don't think that's what he's doing? What else would he be doing? Just hanging out... coaching football for money.... The goal is what it is man. Become the greatest. Why else would someone pursue this career?

Just to be clear, you don’t know jack squat about football. Lol @“before I was born.” 🤡 Please tell us all about your qualifications and being the all knowing omnipotent football god.

What do you want me to do, rattle off the winner and loser of every Super Bowl, or tell you every game Tennessee has lost this century, or just point out that you all said the same BS about the last 3 guys and got mad at anyone who dared to disagree with the party line? Just knowing when the clock stops in football means I know something Heupel does not.

I have eyes and can see that Josh Heupel is getting outcoached every week now. Stevie Wonder could see it. Yet there are still a bunch of people who think I hate Tennessee and don’t know football for the simple fact that they are too delusional to see that Heupel is regressing. These are the same exact people who swore up and down that Derek Dooley was gonna be here 25 years, that Butch Jones was building a dynasty brick by brick, and that Jeremy Pruitt was the next Kirby Smart.

Where did you play college football? Since you’re calling me a fan I’d imagine you played similar to myself. But aside from that, If you’re so inclined, I’d love to put your money where your mouth is.

I used to go live regularly on TikTok. Let’s go live and have a little football debate where we answer questions, share knowledge, and debate. I’m sure you feel brave and strong bringing all these negative, albeit, repeated comments over and over but I’d love to take it a step further. Lmk if you’re interested otherwise maybe watch who you “call out” for their limited football knowledge. 🤫🤫🤣

Won’t be here in 2029 if he doesn’t change certain coaches in the off season.

If he does, he will be here as long as he wants because it will show he has decided to do what it takes to win.

Longer than the tenure of collegiate football. The current system is unsustainable. I thought a college coach had the softest job in the world considering they would do the same job for free. Not anymore, now they must recruit every player new and old every season, placate their spoiled attitudes and NIL demands and then coach them up. How do you coach a player with an attitude if he has huge NIL deal and refuses to co-operate fully? I picture it more like a daycare center than a football team.
Something must change; otherwise, college football will destroy itself. I hate the current version of college football that we are being served. The only teams that will be successful are those backed by large sums of $$. As for the poll, Heupel will be here as long as he wants. Fortunately, the idiot fans are not the final arbiters on this issue.

I think it’s overstated to say Heupel’s tenure has plateaued. That perception exists mostly because we haven’t topped the 2022 win total. It feels like we should have because we were so good so fast, but it’s not as simple as him raising the floor and then getting stuck.

When he got here, the roster had a ton of flaws. Hooker and the novelty of the offense in the SEC masked a lot of that, and we massively overachieved relative to the roster’s overall talent.

Since then, the roster’s been steadily improving top to bottom, but we’ve dealt with the usual college football volatility (quarterback changes, a freshman QB last year, injuries on defense, and a ton of young players this season.) Given all that, I think Heup’s done a really good job keeping the wins coming, and the transfer portal has been key to patching holes and maintaining a high floor.

Now, with all the freshmen and recruiting at its best four-year average in over 20 years, I think we’re in a great spot to see that floor rise permanently starting next year and firmly entrenching ourselves in the upper part of the SEC.
