We were diagramming sentences in 7th grade, college is kinda late to be learning grammar
Eggsactly.
True story. I was passed along in high school with severe dyslexia. I graduated with a 1.83 from High School. Made a 30 on the ACT got into UT and failed out. Took years off. My son was born and I begged my way back in. They let me take a correspondence class. Accounting 202. Made a C. Got to take 12 hours the next semester. 4.0. I have a district honor at UT. The only student in school history on the deans list with a GPA of less than 2.0. I was 1.5ish. Made a 3.9 my last 50 hours on went into Grad school with a 2.8.
3.85 in grad school.

And I can’t spell anything correctly to this day. In fact all my grammar sucks.

But I digress

I would also try to change the subject if I had been talking about how there's "a lot pressure on schools systems in Democrat ran cities" and then admitted I learned grammar in college lol, those things are not a missing period on a message board

I get a lot of resumes every fall and spring from upcoming college graduates. I can tell you for a fact that they do not teach grammar in college.

Did you need blue font to understand the UTK system remark? Majority here graduated from the system he doesn’t trust. Too early for you to be this distraught.

ICE is for people who are here illegally, not just "foreigners" you don't like
Ice is here to catch those the system is rigged against being here legally. They pick on the ones working and trying to better themselves because they are easy to catch. The hardened gang members and violent criminals are too much effort to deal with.

That's the thing about New York City though. Many are either service based, which don't pay a lot of money, or corporate which do. I think there is a lot of lethargy at play but it's magnified by the inflated prices there as well.

You'd be surprised how many people out there make under 40k a year all over the country....... Who work hard! They get by I've only because they live in areas of the country where it is much cheaper to function on a daily basis.

And to make sure my statement was factual I looked it up. Just under 50% of people country wide bring home less than 40k a year. Half the country!

Agree how far 40K goes depends upon where you live. In the New England area, including NYC, it does nothing for you - but in some other states, a very different story.

Very off topic - but so is this forum -

This should be true - but my freshman English class at UTK, I was amazed at what the professor had to teach. She asked me where I attended school and told me she was sorry that I was probably bored in the class with all the remedial stuff.

And then in my last year of college, a younger student asked me how I had written and presented such a good evaluation of a poem. She could tell the professor was impressed. I could tell she had never been taught the basics of research and writing based on that research without plagiarizing. I learned that in 8th grade. My first reaction was to be flippant with her - but decided instead to go through the basics with her - I knew the professor would not do that.
