Tried the FUBO free one week trial - do not like it at all. Harder to navigate and so slow when changing from one channel to another. YTTV is much better. Cancelling FUBO today after men's basketball game - YTTV paid through 11/23 and not paying anymore to them at this point either. Learning that watching one game at a time on antenna is not that bad - maybe less sports is not a bad thing after all - not sure which is worse - this disney/yttv crap or the crap in Washington.......both need to get their crap together and get something negotiated. (and I know I used crap about 30 times but better than what my mind was saying !)Good luck trying to jump back and forth to replay. I watched the Lady Vols last night and got frustrated that the default skip setting is 30 seconds. For some reason, every time I tried to catch up to live, it would go past the live tic and send me back to where it took me from rewind.
It’s not nearly as good as YTTV’s interface.

I’m glad to hear someone else is on board with doing without. Sadly, cancel culture seems to be our only defense against greed. It seems to work pretty well when we can unite though.Tried the FUBO free one week trial - do not like it at all. Harder to navigate and so slow when changing from one channel to another. Who knew Mickey Mouse could be diabolical....and isn't going to be resolved any time soon.
Leaked memo from Disney.
Good news for GameDay fans, though.

Yep. I can see the day where I just listen to the games on the radio. So much for cutting the cord. They draw us in with early savings then gradually increase the prices to cable levels or beyond. The old frog in the pot scenario. I've been saying it for a while. The next step will be to make everything PPV. It's why I've been slowly but surely building my book library. It's coming. I can feel it.
You aren’t getting the games for free. You’re paying for a service like everyone else, just splitting the cost across multiple platforms & family members.
NM. Misunderstood. You are 100% wrong. Nobody in my family pays for YTTV. You dont have to pay for regular youtube...because its free. To literally every human being on planet Earth. Its free on your phone, your tablet, your computer and your TV. Youtube is free. I have never paid to watch a Tennessee game on youtube and don't plan on it.
Freak himself uploads all the UT games to regular old free youtube AFTER they are finished. Thats not what I am talking about. Thats where I re-watch part of a game or a game I missed. I watch them all LIVE in real time from other people streaming them on the app. Some of the best streams for UT sports come from guys in Asia strangely. Have never missed a game...and I dont live in Tennessee so local TV is not an option.
when google refused to budge, I immediately cancelled YouTubeTV and signed up for Hulu+ Live TV. And given I already had the Disney+/ESPN+/Hulu combo before that after dropping YTTV I am now saving $40 a month wished I’d switched sooner!...and isn't going to be resolved any time soon.

You could probably get away with Discovery + I believe HGTV is housed with Discovery, TLC, etc.I’m considering dropping YouTubeTV as well. It’s exhausting trying to sift through all the streaming war stuff. When it comes down to it with YouTube, my wife and I really only watch a couple network shows, I watch sports and she likes HGTV. That’s it. Not worth $85 a month. I’ll probably end up getting an antenna and find a cheaper option for the HGTV.
I just dropped the 4k plus because we don't watch a lot of different things at once. I think you can have 3 streams at home without that extra 10 bucks. Not a bad deal if you're getting it cheaper. That $29.99 deal is only a limited time for 12 months.
(currently $35.99/month for ad-supported plan or $44.99/month for premium plan)
I have a bunch of streaming subscriptions but Disney/Hulu just isn't something I personally watch.
Out of curiosity, I just checked how much I'm paying for YouTube TV. It's $89.99 plus I play $9.99 for 4k/unlimited home streams. so $99.98 plus tax.
I'm just waiting for UFC to make the move to Paramount+. At that point, YTTV is history.Got the Sling Daypass last week to watch the Game. Worked well for me. 5 bucks. Swapped to YTTV 2 years ago when Spectrum and Disney did this for about 2 weeks. Swapped from direct TV to Spectrum because of a dispute several years ago with ESPN. Really like YTTV. Works well for me and my wife. Going to try and hold out as long as I can. Disney is the common problem here. Once they get us all on HULU they will name their price. We really need someone to outbid them for these college sports contracts. That’s the only thing going to change this trend.
The unlimited home streams allows us to use YTTV at our farm and our lake house. That's why we aren't gonna switch. We didn't watch a single game today. Listened to part of the candy game in the car. Disney thinks they can strong arm us. They're wrong. Not a bad deal if you're getting it cheaper. That $29.99 deal is only a limited time for 12 months.

We have Amazon prime and YTTV. That is it. Can use both at our farm and our lake house.we won’t even miss it. i didn’t have a TV from my senior year of college up until i had kids. if there’s a big game i’ll go to buffalo wild wings like thr good pot days
keeping amazon prime video for the wife and kids. everything else gone
SAME SAME!! YTTV is the best interface. Also we can use it at both homes we own. No one else allows that. We didn't watch a single game today.I'm just gonna do Fubo trials every weekend until this ends. It's not too hard to make a new email address. I'm not giving Disney the satisfaction of taking another customer from YT. I've been with YTTV for many years and do not want to switch.
It'll pass, it has to, there too much money and too many ratings at stake. I heard on the radio today Disney gets $12 for every YTTV sub, and they are wanting to up that to $15, which to me is absurd. Disney is the greedy enemy here, not Google. Disney paid a fortune for SEC football rights, and now they are holding them hostage. Whatever happens, I will NEVER EVER sign up for ESPN unlimited. Screw those greedy bastards.
While he has a point, there's a fly in the ointment....always is, right? Last night I did just as he stated. I went and found Auburn/Vandy on regular YouTube. Worked fine most of the time with a few caveats. First, the commercials don't come with breaks in the action. They're like all the lazy podcasters who just toss in ads in the middle of comments and when you get to the point of "skipping", you've missed a good bit of action. The other issue is that the stream ceased during the game. Google no doubt had identified it and shut it down. So I found an alternate stream that was working. It also got snagged in time so the process continued. While I guess it's better than watching a replay the next day or actually getting the streams we're all paying for, it's still not as easy as the poster made it seem. At some point, I suspect YouTube/Google will find a way to stop these streams up front closing this avenue for watching content during these squabbles.NM. Misunderstood.
I caved and got espn ultimate for $25 a month. Discount for some reason, I don't know why. We watched the men's bball game, and we'll watch the women's today, and I watched my sister's team choke (aubren), and had a great day getting things ready to take to a family get together tonight. While he has a point, there's a fly in the ointment....always is, right? Til then, I was always pretty good at whack-a-mole. Let's see how good YouTube and Google are.
Guess I'm just old and stubborn. Tired of being a money pinata that both Disney and Google keep whacking for every last dime they can squeeze out of me. And I won't even start with the recent change Amazon has made to their Prime service. When push comes to shove, I grew up with AM radio so it's like a well worn, comfortable pair of boots for me. You might not believe it, but some say I'm ornery, too.I caved and got espn ultimate for $25 a month. Discount for some reason, I don't know why. I prefer YTTV and I want abc and espn back, but I'll make this work for now.
