I would be too if I was 500 lbs heading into a public gym. That's reallll easy to get flashbacks to grade school.
Well, those two in fact do coincide. I'd suggest him a private trainer (an at home one) who's experienced with patients similar to him. If you lose weight significantly, you gain confidence and depression will become an afterthought.Yeah, he’s one of my favorite patients; but I probably get on his nerves. He always comes and sees me for something else, and I always talk to him about his depression and weight.
First time we met it was his blood pressure. Last time we met it was positional sleep apnea. And everytime, we mainly focus on weight and depression.
I told him I’ve never known anyone who made it to 400+ lbs who wasn’t depressed and that we have to address both together and if we get any + momentum on one; we should anticipate + momentum on the other.

I think some people have issues with the use of the term "fit". I don't think anybody believes a reduction in excessive adipose tissue is a bad thing in reducing any number of morbidities. I do think being "fit" is much more associated with things like increased strength/endurance/flexibility/etc from actual physical activity as opposed to making a pharmaceutical end run on simple fat reduction. It’s highly significant. By lowering your weight I can improve numerous other conditions, all of which make you more physically fit.
I’m not saying “do this instead of going to the gym”. I’m saying “do this and go to the gym”, but I also live in reality and realize many of my patients will not. Also many of them are too physically ashamed of their current body to go to the gym. I have one in particular who is over 500lbs.
You can take these medications indefinitely if need be. But the truth is when people look better, they naturally make more changes.
This os what my doctor explained and fits my use of Zepbound. I was 262 lbs and felt stuck. No matter the exercise regimen, no matter the diet, just always around 260. But that is largely my own perception that I'm trying hard to lose weight when, in reality, not in an effective way.
On Zepbound I lost about 15 lbs in first 6 weeks, now down several months later to sub-225.
And I'm going to take a break now and see if the good habits have ingrained themselves to my lifestyle that I dont need it, at $650 a month. If the price to me is indeed $150 starting next year, I might go to maintenance doses as I'm at 12.5 MG now, maybe maintain off of 5 or whatever.
Ask your doctor if he can prescribe through any compounding pharmacies for you. Some states may be stricter than others, but I can get these medications for patients for around $120 a month depending on their dose.
I use Cody Pharmacy here in TX a lot.

Sure. But its whats happening. I have several people I work with who are on the meds. None of them do anything to improve their r health. They are just smaller with pancake butts and loose skin. Oh and they all complain about being dizzy and never being hungry. Seems pretty unhealthyThose aren’t a result of ozempic but rather of lack of physical activity and excess skin
