This.No logical reason to hire Derek Dooley. It was a panic hire, should have named an interim coach for the year or hired David Cutcliffe.
I’m going to show myself for the knucklehead I can be and will admit that when he was hired I thought he had a chance to be successful. He was clearly smart and I thought he was funny. He clearly didn’t have the ability to relate with young football players. I can at least see how he could be impressive in an interview. Polished and well spoken and had been around football his whole life. I absolutely never thought Pruitt had any chance of being successful and have no idea how you interview him and decide he’s who you want to lead a major college football team. I was embarrassed after the introductory press conference. I will never understand what Fulmer was thinking and I really like Fulmer.This.
10x worse than firing Fulmer and hiring Kiffin.
That was at least understandable.
Hiring a LOSING G5 coach/attorney at a place like UT is just unfathomable. I will never not say that was emphatically the worst decision in the whole history of UT sports....and by many many many miles. A damn 5 year old could have made a better decision. Just awful.
Hopefully we are locking down key guys now during the off week as OK’s GM said last week they planned. Minimize risk for when new coaching staffs are in place elsewhere. Curious to know if this is underway @Stoerner FumblesMost coaches are realizing with NIL you don't have to leave to get an advantage. Stay put, get them to pay you more and open up more NIL and then you are competitive.
It's actually a great spot for coaches.
The open roles will be much harder to fill.
They need the first domino to fall.
That list is nuts.
That would be a hoot.
not going to competely write him off yet. will reserve that when and if he transfers, but yeah. so far not impressed at all. such a waste.Hard to remember a Vol who was given a second chance and given less effort than Boo Carter. Wish the kid no success at his next school.
