Back in the saddle again…

Almost struck by a very late red light runner at an intersection with a 5-lane street. You may be running late, you may not have your makeup on, you may feel that you just have to talk on your handheld mobile phone, but if I had been in a motorized 4-wheel vehicle, you’d have had a short stop at the hospital, followed by detention in jail prior to your preliminary hearing.

I really hate that these things happen. It's happened to me several times running and the older I get the more I want to find places to run that involve less and less traffic.

She came within inches of my front wheel at ~50+ mph (speed limit on that street is 45). Thankfully, I’m old, cautious, and slow to start off. Had a vehicle been pulling out, she would have t-boned it at speed.
