That’s why I don’t come on here when we play cupcakes, people will overhype those wins, next time I’ll be on a thread is against UCLA, that’s the only game that actually matters.

you can gain things from playing easier opponents. you can become a better team. UCLA is our next big test, but definitely a lot to be excited for in the next coming games. hopefully we see an increase in cohesiveness and chemistry.

The team made plenty of mistakes to place the blame on themselves and not on the refs, and that's okay.

I also think this type of loss is a lot more helpful than pressing a lesser team to death and winning by 80. Lots to learn and be gained from this. I just hope they stick together and build up the chemistry. If they can manage that, I do think they will re-focus and improve quickly.

We probably would have won if she played, but we made a lot of floor mistakes which cost us the game. Missed a lot of layups and foul shots. Did not play the fullcourt press very well and were terrible on the offensive and defensive boards. Lots of room for improvement.

They can do all of that against cupcakes, but will it translate to the better teams, getting exposed in game 1 is crazy.

i wouldnt say we got exposed. we lost by 3 with an uneven as all get out foul count. even that up and i have no doubt we win. you can choose to look at the negatives, i’m not. still super excited for this team. i knew it would take time for them to gel, but when they do it’ll be very fun.

NC State isn’t a good team, they just look good against us, watch how they drop in the rankings in the next few weeks. At that point this loss won’t look as good as some people seem to think right now.

Bench position was mentioned during the broadcast and indeed was huge down the stretch.

One thing that concerns me is that we did not wear them out at all. And we count on that. Their starters played between 30 and 39 minutes. The most anyone played off the bench was 10 minutes and yet we were just as worn down as they by the end of the game. That is concerning.

Why were we shoe tying??

Kim is going to have to find a happy medium on off season conditioning. I think she went too hard last year and not hard enough this year. We need to get in shape and fast. Barker has been gassed early in both games so far.

Caldwell's style is indeed a grand experiment. I honestly don't know if it will work. It might be wildly successful. It might fall flat. The whole thing about swapping out 5 players for 5 is interesting. My concern would be about cohesiveness and some players working better with others. The pace is manic and entertaining. Losing Ruby was a bad pain at a bad time. Either way, it's a long season and I look forward to seeing how this team can put it together.

I think games where we're hit hard by fouls will be like that. 23 fouls called is a lot of time for Wolfpack players to rest, especially when those fouls became free throw breaks.

For people that think the officiating should be called fairly , you can come down from the clouds it will never happen... Officiating wasn't the only reason we lost the game today but if that's what makes you feel good go ahead and play the officiating card..

I don’t think this game probably hurts us in the rankings at all though. They’ll jump us to 7 and we’ll stay at 8 or 9. Duke losing to Baylor will drop out of the top 10 and Baylor will move up a slot or two.

Not that any of that matters at this point.
