With all these vacancies opening up, i wouldnt be surprised if Huepel left

Right, because Penn St, UF, Auburn, and LSU are well-known for their reasonable, level-headed fanbases.

The only teams that have, quote, reasonable fanbases are the ones that don't win jack, like Mississippi State for example. List the top 20 programs and then tell me if any of them have "reasonable" fans.

The way our ridiculous fanbase is with the crazy expectations, I wouldn't blame him for going. I doubt a lot of teams will want to wait for Lane Kififn to reject them in late January

Too many jobs, not enough quality coaches. Be careful what you wish for.
i for one want Hype here. Sure he makes some questionable decisions. But I had rather have him than any available coach.

Correct. There’s only about 3 coaches I would trade him for. We need for Heupel to work here.

I think people could stomach a down year this year but what is the most concerning is that it’s year 5 and this team is one of the most undisciplined teams we’ve seen in a while. And it isn’t just the players. The coaches have just made some mind numbing decisions with game management and clock management that have never been an issue.

Now if we have a bad year next year, maybe time for some changes.

Heupel can go 9-3 next year and be fine if there are signs of improvement in coaching, players, and game management.

I just hope Heupel and the entire staff spend a week in the offseason learning all the clock rules

Where is he gonna go? LSU or Penn State, who just fired guys for basically doing what Heupel has done? Maybe Auburn, who famously fired a national championship winner 2 years after winning it all? Or maybe Florida, who has fired 2 coaches in the past 10 years the year after making the SEC Championship.

If he wants to step down a level where nobody will complain about losing, he’s free to do so.

He won’t leave for a major job if crazy ass fans are his issue. They’re everywhere.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he got some calls.

I think you get the same nonsense (people screaming for his firing) in any big-time job. A contingent of Bama fans thought it was time for Saban to retire every time he lost a game.

Hell there were plenty of Bammers wanting to cut DeBoer loose after the FSU game - saying it was proof he couldn't cut it. I remember some former Alabama player complaining about their five star receiver Ryan Williams and his painted fingernails in some social media photo, saying he was soft, and Alabama was soft, and that DeBoer's culture didn't have what it took to compete in the SEC.

Now they're 7-1 and leading the SEC and as if by magic, all those idiots have shut up. Funny how that works.

Depends on how many players leave. Look at how it went when they fired pruitt. What was it like 20-30 transfers?

That was before the portal. Say Heupel took the Auburn job, the roster here at Tennessee opens up and could transfer with him plus the class changes. It wouldn’t be as drastic as what happened

A few trolls on Volnation is not indicative of "our fan base" most rational people eventually realize at some point players need to be accountable. That's not personal it's called growing.

We don’t have any wins over ranked teams. We’ve not beat a decent unranked team. I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect better than what we have gotten.

I'd be extremely concerned if he gets on VolNation and reads all of our crap. Hopefully he's busy working and ignoring ridiculously ignorant stupidity on here, including from your's truly

You seriously think CJH would leave because of what some loony fans on a message board or radio call-in show say after a tough loss? If he's that soft, he shouldn't be here in the first place.

Im not saying it would be but there is always a risk that his former players wont follow him. Plus you have to assume some of thier current players wouldn't stay. The transfer portal has made it easier but i mean look at North carolina. They brought in a big name albeit old and never coached in college head coach. Give him everything he's asked for and still lose right off the bat. Im just saying the grass isn't always greener.
