Joey is a good qb, yes he had a bad game, but it was not all on him. Not a good game plan for a team Hype should have known would put a lot of pressure on our qb. And if coaching staff watched game film on Okl. should have known we would not be successful running the same running plays up the middle. We do need to be successful in the run game. But you can use different running schemes than just the same plays we have been running. And more quick hitting passes like we did to start the game. Just from watching some of the games OKl has played I knew we couldn't run up the middle on them.

Do you watch football. We are much better at the QB this year with Joey than we would be with Nico. Meyer was totally wrong and so are you if you think we would be better with Nico.

I have zero confidence that this Coaching Staff (Head Coach Included) can EVER get it done. Heuple initially benefitted from Cornbread's recruiting, and that has ended. Send the UHAUL!

No, he's been consistently bad at all of those things since he's been here. We're better at QB than we have been since Hendon.

Let's talk about QB's. Let's examine this through 'with a great quarterback we could...'

Facts: We lost our starter in Spring, who had:

- Been through two spring practices
- Knew the playbook
- Been compensated accordingly

Let's look at facts:

Joey Aguilar played at a different level than SEC, he enrolled in Spring and got to work. That's < 1 year in playbook, and even less time actually working with his receivers in game time situations. He also split reps with Mac and the other guy.

Our WR's had barely ever played CFB, and hadnt stayed healthy, forget playing 20-40 snaps a game.

Huepel wants to go fast. Should he have schemed more for the Oklahoma game? I'd say sure. Would it have made their FG kicker miss any more? Would Joey being John Mateer, Diego Pavia, or Chambliss have won us that game? Id argue not. Defense played better but when it wanted too. Oklahoma asserted itself at LoS.

Let's talk about poor plays calls, and game management.

Nico rolling right vs Ark last year. Huepel had a play call, our QB knew where the 1st marker was. Can Huep insert a chip in a QB's brain to remind where 1st down line is? Should we have kicked a FG vs Georgia going into half ? Should our WR's not drop passes in keys situations, or QB throw ball away instead of forcing to a covered WR? Should we have put in hot hand, ED to catch the perfect play call on 4th down? Huepel didnt cause issues of his guys simply not executing. Joey has put us in a position we never thought we would be on honestly with some serious constraints. If you want to nitpick, look to the sponge we have on defense that in Y5, is calling for playing 10 yards off the ball, and cant stop Anyone. Ever.

Id say more often than not he has made the right calls. He's learned from his mistakes, and knows he has to recruit better.

Asking a transfer QB to come in and get sacked 5-6 times, then go an put us in a position to win. With 62 yards rushing is pretty remarkeable. And its a tesfamwnt to his system. Yes I recognize the lack of push, and lack of running game.

Jimmy's and Joe's, has to get better. Esp on defense. If we've learned anything about this year its that S, and CB arent bought out of the bargain bin. 'Coaching em up' on a project doesnt help us here. Finding a diamond in the rough in the porthole doesnt cut it. We have to go find them, and be aggressive as other teams. We are the youngest team in SEC, othet teams like Andy and Ole Piss who spent money are flourishing.

As for Joey, he is whst he is. There is truly no other SEC QB ive seen id rsther have, save Green at Ark.

At least Pruitt left some talent. And scholarship reductions is a lost argument now. How long has NIL been in place? 3rd year? This is Heuple's 5th. He's had the opportunity to buy players, and has mismanaged that. You Josh supporters will eventually see who he is. Maybe.

You don't have to be a "Josh supporter" to acknowledge that Pruitt nuked the program on his way out. You just had to pay attention during the transition but it appears you did not. Using him as a positive example is mind blowing

Nico is a 1 read QB. We'd have 4 or 5 losses right now with how bad this defense has been this year and how far our rushing attack has fallen with the loss of Sampson.

Check the OLine and Dline Pruitt left. Check NFL rosters for them. It is a LOS game. Heuple would get a pass for the first 3 years, but after NIL, no way no how. Even with a few limitations, if you are competent, you can fill your roster with outstanding talent. What is the excuse for THIS year? Scholarships? Cignetti took his entire team (from JMAD no Less) to Indiana and went from 3-9 to 11-2 in Year ONE. There's a Coach for you.

No, I think that little of Nico. Joey in Heup's system is the reason why we have had so much success.

The defense and Sampson carried us last year. Sampson left for the draft and the defense lost at least 6 of our best starters either to the draft, portal, or to injury. This season would have fallen squarely on the back of Nico if he were here and there is zero doubt in my mind he would playing considerably worse than Aguilar.

All said and done, I am glad we didn't have another year of NICO drama. What would our record be with him this year?
Some will listen to Urban and some will not. Urban would not have let NICO go. Urban is who he is a has been.

Pearce, Sampson, Thornton, and Lott where all CJH guys. They are all better then anything Pruitt left. His 1st real class are all seniors this year. 3 of the 6 OL players this year are CJH guys, all 6 if you count the portal guys. 3 of them look like they are destined for the NFL. The only lineman Pruitt produced are D. Wright, Mays, Thomas and Simmons. The last 2 aren't even playing, Pearce and Lott have been much more productive. Heard and Sanders will be comparable to Wright. Perry has a good chance to develop into a NFL lineman also.

Aguilar turnovers definitely cost us along with the defensive execution for the QB run, the kicking game, and some questionable coaching decisions. Do we really need an onside kick with two minutes remaining? If so, it's an indictment on Banks and the defense being one of the worst in the league and country. Oklahoma is no juggernaut on offense. I don't know who they play next but if it's anyone with a pulse their point total will be low.

One last thing, we've seen this team all year make key mistakes and play less clean than the other team in almost every game. That starts to appear systematic and beyond the players.
