The intent of my reply was to highlight the folly of complaining about something the government controls while generally being in favor of more government control.

And, I think the way you gravitated to it like a fly to poo shows it was effective.

Would I support the government increasing teacher pay? Of course. Government employees should get increases like private sector employees do. The question seems silly to me.

I don't lament New York if they vote for a bad candidate. Typically societies are far more resilient than temporary bad elected leaders.

Funny, I said the same thing about impoverished rural folks and Trump. Still feel that way. Dems should have never engaged in this shutdown. Let people’s health insurance premiums become unaffordable, (along with everything else) under the Republican-controlled federal government. Once the pain hits home, loyalty wanes.
