Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said today that the additional 10% tariffs President Donald Trump announced on Canada have not yet taken effect, suggesting the levies may not ultimately be imposed.

“He threatened a 10% tariff … it hasn’t been put on yet,” Bessent said on CNN’s “State of the Union,” adding that “we’ll see” if the new duties are enacted.

So you want to artificially inflate pay in the job market, which will eat into corporate profits, which will lead to decrease in shareholder value and share price, thus hurting the more than 50% of the country who have money in 401K’s just to help people who refuse to better then themselves (outside of those with a disabilty.) I pay cooks $20 an hour to start no experience. I got $15 16 year old hosts. Again I ask, why don't you want teachers and other union members to retire?

How would it be "artificially inflating" their pay if they are intentionally kept at part time status so that McDonald's won't be obligated to provide benefits, and they stay 'artificially' eligible for government assistance?

Teachers at all levels are underpaid. I have a difficult time believing paying a living wage is going to prevent anyones retirement. So you plan to employ a cook no more than a couple years? Have you explained to your cooks they need to better themselves? Your 16 yo host work after 10pm? Before 10 am M-F ? You think 50% of the country needs to live on scraps? The top 10% truly deserve 100% write off on luxury jets? The income gap has remained static?
