Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Well I mean you answered my question here with a bunch of political speech so i returned the favor.
Lol. I answered in a kind and respectful way. I don’t think you like the message which is fine. I've never called for him to be fired. My confidence in him is waning. Last night moved it to a new level, not because I don’t want him to succeed, not because I don't like him, but what I've seen. So do I want him gone? Heck no. At some point, you are what you are. He will get a chance to fix it in yhe off season. The question is, will he? He loses to FL, with an interim coach, that will be inexcusable. He loses to Vandy at home, inexcusable.

So basically what you are saying fans need to accept being a mid tier SEC team? No expectations of competing for championships?
That's not what I took from the post at all. We can clearly see we're building something here and It took way too long. What do you suggest we try?

Don’t know if he was or wasnt, haven’t seen an angle showing he was or heard anyone else mention it.

What I do know is it was a blocking mistake
That led to the defender going basically untouched to the QB and causing the fumble.

Offside or not he could have been blocked.
But blame the refs

Black line is behind the ball and the head of the defender is level with the ball

We are still on probation. I told people this defense wasn’t good enough for us to be a playoff team. We lost too much and were too young. We are still on probation with restrictions on evals and visits and are on the precipice of greatness if we don’t run a good coach off or he doesn’t continue to evolve. Also get some dang safeties and play some more young guys who are HUNGRY

Do you fire you coach if he only gets 8 with a 9 game SEC schedule and misses CFP is the question?

I mean LSU said no CFP in the press conference, then time to find new coach!
The mess LSU finds itself in is for any decent coach to take that job, you are going to have to give him a contract similar to the one the Governor just complained about the last AD giving Brian Kelly. That guy isn't in those conversations and has no idea how little leverage he's left LSU with.

I've never said he should be fired. All I've said is my confidence in him is waning. I've also said 3 years ago that Banks would get him fired. I still believe that. While I think the probation has some influence, I think it's been exaggerated. The question is, is he a 7-5, 8-4, 9-3, occasional 10-2 or better perennial coach or more? We're at best 9-3 this year but most likely 8-4. If that's the norm for the next few years, should fans be satisfied?

That's exactly what he was saying. He was saying we should be OK with that because the alternative was going into the "abyss".

I'm not suggesting anything. All I've done is ask question. The only statements I've made is I don't think he should be fired. I could see him leaving for another job in a couple of years if the 8-4, 9-3 seems to be the norm, to reset his clock. And I've said my confidence in him has taken a hit this season.

And I've asked how long should it take. We are in year 5. We looking at 5 years more, 10 years? I'm not getting any younger.

She’s had her bags packed
She never needed bags packed, she made it clear in her son’s recruitment and since then all over social media. She should’ve taken a page out of momma Mashack on social media. That’s one classy woman and more importantly mother. Love her. Momma Boo, not so much. I feel sorry for him in the support systems he has.

“Bought the series”😭🤣🤣🤣 so just to be clear..going into the bottom of the 9th with the blue jays still having the lead at home in game 7 of the World Series is “bought”..nice take Bruin

Who was considered the hands down favorite to win the series before and during the season?

Same with the Yankees in the day.

It's probably one if the biggest of many reasons I can't get into MLB

AP’s comments were essentially that we need to play the young guys we want a part of this team next year or else they may leave. Alluded to them being guys that haven’t play a lot so far.

I honestly thought of GMac with those comments
I thought of Morris, Merrit, Travis Smith, Brame. If those guys aren’t part of the exodus then I’m good. GMac is in prime position to start next year, Merk may leave and it’s not ideal for Brandon to start day 1.

In today's college football, 8-9 wins on average is fine if you can jump to 10-11 every 3 years or so and make a run in the CFP. Even uga is starting to show some weaknesses. OSU is the only one who's been immune to the new reality so far.

I'll be thrilled if we make the playoff every 2-3 years given how tough our schedule will be.

Next year looks to be another "rebuild" as we lose a lot a crucial positions including breaking in a new QB. It will most likely be a redshirt or true freshman qb. Doubtful we make noise next year. So if we don't make it next year, that means 2027 should be the year, correct?
