Film Guy’s message to some of you

He also said Joey would be a heisman contender after this game and TN would run away from OK. He just says things.
He makes predictions, and they’re sometimes wrong. He shows the film and makes his calls.

I think Brooks like the UT offense and thinks it will be successful in the long run.

Everyone gets emotional and says or does things during the game but to take it to the next level and emotionally post dumb things online is immature. Anyone can look back and see that this team is MUCH better than we were during the Dooley, Jones, & Pruitt years. If we were to lose Heupel there is a very good chance we fall back again.

He’s pretty knowledgeable when it comes to film study and he’s also fairly complimentary of Tennessee a good amount of time. I watch him quite a bit and he said that we would beat Oklahoma by more than a touchdown…had we executed that’s not exactly a bold prediction.

Also Joey is currently the number two passing qb in the country and only 50 or so yards behind the kid from Baylor. Their TD/INT ratio is very similar as well. Joey being in the Heisman conversation isn’t a stretch either. But, it won’t happen because he plays for Tennessee and I doubt we mount any kind of Heisman campaign for him.

This misses my point, he is wrong a lot.

Different era now than 20yrs ago, NIL has added parity.
I think Heupel will get you those 9/10 wins a year but not sure he can put it all together to get you the SEC Championship or Natty.
Let's see what staff changes he makes this off season

Yep, he initially moved to double team the DT with our RG, then realized the edge rusher was blowing right by him. HOW....does he not pay complete attention to that edge rusher?? Huge mistake. I decided to make myself miserable this afternoon and go back and watch it play by play, pausing on a lot of plays. Stopped and started that play a half dozen times trying to figure out what he was thinking there.
I did to.
He did exactly as you said !

I see a lot of times O lineman or QB’s or both pointing at D player’s and making sure
The blocking is right.
Don’t see UT doing it much.

A recurring theme is Mistakes and Heupel saying in the post game presser “we have to execute and clean up the play”.

I can only hear that so many times without seeing any difference without thinking he’s not capable of taking care of it.

I don’t care if you’re a mastermind if you’re team is going to keep committing just enough penalties and missed blocks and mistakes to keep costing you games.

Didn’t bother watching. But to say the offense is good and Heupel is a good offensive mind is redundant. We know that. (Well most of the time anyway.) Did the all knowing Film Guy break down our stellar defense. I’m more interested in that getting fixed.

Had Tennessee scored that last TD and won most would be saying the same thing. Almost 400 yards of passing. Didn’t win. So this guys doesn’t know anything and JA is mediocre. Im
Not a fan of timeouts for people but some shouldn’t comment until mid week after a loss.

And we end up beating zero decent teams in year five, but hey historically bad ADs hired theee of the worst guys in SEC history and they did worse so we should be happy never being in the running for a championship.

Brooks sees it very clearly in the film. Heupel is an offensive mastermind who creates all sorts of opportunities for his players to succeed. They just need to execute. The careless INTs, unfortunate fumbles, missed kicks, dumb penalties, is a lack of execution. They are correctable. But replacing one of the best offensive playcallers in college football is not a path anyone wants to go down. We really need to shame the idiots who think otherwise.
Anyone sober or with half a brain is not calling for his head.
However, as a random poster on a Vol message board, I can and will, call him out and talk 💩 about him after a frustrating loss.

No I think people would still be annoyed that we slopped it up all game and ended up nearly losing because of it the same way we did against Arkansas and MSU. That stuff catches up with you. We can’t just keep playing like that and then act like it was just random bad luck we lost a big game.

And we are in the running to win 9 games because we have 8 pretty crappy teams on the schedule.

Do we even have a win over a team that’s over .500?

I've said it for several years. Banks and Martinez both need to be gone! They do the same stupid **** every year which costs us a lot of games!

This the same guy that said we were gonna blow out Oklahoma and Joey would get a heisman invite?
lol yep. He’s the sunshine pumpers messiah now apparently. Heaven forbid we’re disappointed our 10 mil coach doesn’t even know the clock rules.

Do we assume he was not taught properly to cover the outside guy on a pass play. Looks like one of our DBs letting a receiver run free for 5 yards and catch undisturbed on third and three. Just doesn't make sense that a player would not cover it.

You, sir, have better things to do than be here.

A Dunning Kruger reference here is the most pearls before swine comment I've ever seen on Volnation.

Please, for the good of your mind, log off and leave us in our drool.
Dang, truth hurts, huh! That free speech thing works both ways, so you are stuck with it.
