Josh is not the guy

Say I'm overreacting all you want. He does not get our players ready to play in the critical games. He is not a horrible coach, but he will not win a Championship at UT. If you're okay with that fine, I'm personally not. Flame me all you want for this take, I've seen enough. Kirby is out here and his players win games that they play like trash in, ours play well and dominate and still lose, and lose because of stupid mistakes, dropped passes, bad playing calling on both D and O, and poor overall preparation and coaching.
It needs to be said only once. You're overreacting. It's ok. He's not going anywhere. People that forgot more than you know do not share your opinion. No one other than reactionary know-nothings are in your corner. Stay angry and clueless. The extra hour of sleep will likely have no effect on your mindset. Heupel is here to stay for awhile and most of us are glad

I don't think many people around here are watching other SEC football games, but it's a battle out there every week. Even the best teams are fighting for their lives most weeks. If you get sloppy and turn the ball over, you're probably going to lose.

Our guys just seemed off tonight and we shot ourselves in the foot over and over. The oddsmakers had this game at basically a tossup, with us having a slight advantage at home. In a matchup like this, if you aren't locked in, you're going to get beat.
Not getting sloppy and not shooting ourselves in the foot are a big part of coaching. We've been sloppy all year, actually last year too.

Heupel isn't going anywhere any time soon. We all know that. He was chip shot field goal from beating Georgia and a play or two tonight away from being firmly in the playoff hunt.

All that said, clock management has to improve. Whatever it takes, that needs to be a focus this offseason. And as I posted in another thread, I get wanting to be conservative when it makes football sense. But that's just not who Josh is. He needs to let it all hang out, stay aggressive and let the cards fall where they may.

What difference does it make being year 5? We have made the playoffs. We have beaten Bama twice. We average 9+ wins a year. And this is the first season we have crossed the blue chip ratio threshold after dealing with recruiting limitations the first few years. We will be all right.
That and a dollar will buy a doughnut. Who cares about your facts. Bottom line…. Is Hype producing at the level he’s getting paid. I’ll answer for you. He’s definitely not!!!

Not the year to try and hire a coach. I’d like to see what this team does with a healthy defense. People forget we lost multiple defensive players to the draft and our two best corners have been out all season, both probably high draft picks. Not excusing some of the questionable play calling but when your offense has to keep you in the game it’s much harder to win
Agree. There’s too many good jobs out there and not enough quality coaches. We’d be sucking the hind teat if we entered the fray

Don't dash my hopes like that. He's brought us as far as he's capable, freak. It's over.
Come Florida you’ll understand.

I know he won’t be fired this year, but it is what it is.
He may not end up being the guy. Time will tell. We always lose at Florida. That's not an indication of anything. Josh needs to take a good hard look this offseason at what he needs to do to for our program to take the next step.

He was also a play or two away from losing to MSU and Arkansas and being firmly on the bowl bubble.

That's just the same thing we've been dealing with for nearly 30 years now. Respectfully, freak.

No way . . . NO WAY is he getting fired this year. Nor should he. However, there are some troubling themes: clock management, poor execution in pressure situations, penalties galore in road games and sometimes at home (admittedly much better tonight), poor defense more often than not, and . . . A trend I never expected . . . Going conservative . . .

If we lose to Vandy and UF (I think we will), it’s the beginning of the end for him . . . Dead man walking over the next 2 years. JMO.
