Not sure where he levels off at…this year was supposed to be a bit of a rebuild and we’ve already dropped as many games as we did all of last year with 4 games remaining…

We were fortunate to get Joey after the Nico deal but Joey is not an elite QB. Not sure if we’ve signed our next QB or not because neither backup looked very impressive when they played earlier this year…having the right QB is a must if you want to get into the upper tier…

I still don't know. This was an 8-win season based on our talent, Vegas had us at 8.5. He makes head scratching decisions sometimes, but our losses aren't completely on him, and our talent level is getting better now that we're out of the investigation cloud, and we lost 28 scholarships over 5 years. No one is winning a championship with this roster.

How do you have this huge stadium, huge fanbase, big money and have this poor of a football team year in and year out?
you are correct. I am Chrissy btw. i never post here this is my dads account . I have been waiting for this thread.. what I want to know is when did we The Vol fanbase start settling and thats what we have been doing . yes we had crappy coaches 20 years in a row.. Dooly ..Pruitt..Jones ..so here comes the Hoopla and he wins some season games ..OK season games that amount to what when its all said and done? well last year it got us ranked 24 ..lol. thats factual . fellow Vol fans wake up .for your sake . Hoopla CAN NOT OR WILL NOT ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING MORE THEN A LOW TOTEM BOWL GAME WIN.. its enough of the wishful thinking . if yall did not realize the truth in the GA game then its sad for you as fans . its time for Hoopla to go ..not tomorrow not next year but now. he will lose to FLA and Vandy ..guarantee it . you can blame Banks all you nwant but the fact is it starts with the HC .. HE IS THE PROBLEM.. if you want him to stay then quit crying about the losing seasons year after year cause thats what Hoopla does best .

Stupid crap like this is why most people avoid the FF...especially after a loss.

We have averaged 10 wins per year over the last 3 years and drunk/ignorant people say stuff like " we have a poor football team every year".

Before tonight CJH has only lost 2 games at home in almost 4 years...both to UGA. Beat Bama and flarda both times too.

Any of yall that think we can grab a better coach than CJH are out of your damn minds and need to talk to LSU, Flarda, and pretty much every other fanbase in the SEC thats being honest. Kirby is the only coach in the SEC that can logically claim to be better than CJH. Even Lame and DeBoer still havent made the playoffs.

Meh, he's good but probably not elite. I plainly remember the dumpster fire that was the last 3 coaches, the current situation is not even close to the depths of despair those years. He's an 8-10 win guy pretty reliably it appears. I don't think you even think about firing him unless you have a home run hire lined up.

We lose based on Joeys TOs and egregious decisions…watch the game
Yes, but not sure why anyone is surprised. JA is just not that good, it’s nothing personal…he’s an average QB at best. TN wasn’t going anywhere this season with him as our starting QB, you just CANNOT turn it over like he does. There is no playoff this year so CJH would do well to start GM the rest of the way under center, preparing for the future. JA won’t be back next year. This was a very winnable game with a good QB & kicker (Max is no good either).

FL just took Georgia to the finish line today with an interim. Verdicts on Deboar isn’t out yet, but if you think CJH is better than Lane your smoking crack, someone is going to risk bankruptcy trying to hire him away from ole Miss this year. Sorry but getting our eyeballs beat in at the expanded playoffs doesn’t really mean much to me.

Very frustrating. CJH is above average (certainly much better than the last 4 HC TN had before him) but unfortunately, we’ve already seen his ceiling. I don’t see him taking the program any higher from here. TN just doesn’t look like a well coached team this year, that’s called regression.

400 yards passing, and three touchdowns isn’t good? Good grief!

Honestly this is what averaging around 12-13th in recruiting each year gets you. Heupel is a very good coach but they need better players to be at the level everyone complains we’re never at. Until that changes, it really doesn’t matter who the coach is in my opinion. There’s no point in freaking the hell out over a team that doesn’t have enough talent. They’re good, not elite.
