Josh is not the guy

We’re really in a bad spot. He’s probably better than who he’d be replaced with. Probably… But he isn’t winning championships. It’s year 5. It ain’t happening. So do we just accept good but never great? Like that’s a serious question. I’m honestly torn…
He's here as long as Danny White is here.

If/when White leaves, Heupel will either go with him, or be fired by White's replacement after the next mediocre or worse season.

Say I'm overreacting all you want. He does not get our players ready to play in the critical games. He is not a horrible coach, but he will not win a Championship at UT. If you're okay with that fine, I'm personally not. Flame me all you want for this take, I've seen enough. Kirby is out here and his players win games that they play like trash in, ours play well and dominate and still lose, and lose because of stupid mistakes, dropped passes, bad playing calling on both D and O, and poor overall preparation and coaching.
You're overreacting

Names. You have to hire a name. Not a wishlist.
I don’t disagree. The most frustrating part is prior to 2023 Heupel was not like this. I don’t know what has happened but after that 2022 season he lost his killer mentality that he even had with the prior teams. Maybe Golesh really was the difference maker.

Tonight was bad on so many levels.

Tried to stay open and positive, but I am closing the door on Hype. I don’t enjoy watching TN football with him at the helm. Even the games we win are clusters/nail biters. His clock management, refusal to make adjustments, ultra conservative style, bone headed play calling at the most inopportune times, lack of killer instinct, inability to get his teams to rise up for big games, and sloppy leadership/appearance have all made it impossible for me to root for him.

Sad, because he seems like a genuinely great guy.

Adding insult to injury - grew up in TN - providence had me in FL where I graduated from UCF. They are my second team. I have watched this play out the same for much longer than his tenure at TN.

He has hit his ceiling. Hope I am wrong, confident that I am not.

Josh is not the guy

If CJH has ANYTHING to do with our offensive call playing, then yes, time for Josh to mosey on down the road. Our offensive play calling has simply been stupid and horrendous for two years straight. Soooo much talent on our offense but we waste it with bad calls. Cannot and will not blame the kids.

I’m with you 1000%. I’m sick of Huepel. I’d trade for Kiffin tomorrow and never give it a second guess. Heupel is a loser that accepts mediocrity because that’s all he is as a person and coach, mediocre. Absolutely pathetic.

That is the conundrum. He’s just good enough to make it very difficult to let him go.
