Heupel is not going to magically fix the undisciplined nature of his football teams in Year 6 of the program. This is just who he is. Time we accept it.

When we hired him my concern was he had a ceiling. Looks to be true.

I guess based on the 20 years before him I should just be happy with where we are

We are about to become a bottom tier SEC team, especially with the new 9 game conference schedule.

Heupel brought us up from the ashes but I don’t think he has it to take us and maintain us in the upper echelon/elite teams. He has reached his ceiling.

The defensive staff needs to be completely overhauled.

ST coach needs to be axed.

Halzle needs to coach high school.

I don’t know this team. All season, I just don’t get it. We play down to our opponent. No sense of urgency. Suspect play calling. When we get a break, we don’t capitalize. When we do well, we immediately take our foot off the gas.

I’m embarrassed by their lack of execution and their effort. They look lost at best, and at worst like they don’t care if they lose. Hard to believe it’s just youth. Most painful season to have to watch since the Pruitt era.

The difference between Heupel and Spurrier…Heupel still tries to force the issue.

If that had been Steve he would’ve thrown it 60+ times and forced OU to start stopping the pass or get tired fast.

The fans are more reactionary than recruits. Easy to see the environment and the pay check and want to play.

Josh Heupel without Danny white is not nearly as successful.

Our NiL is incredible. We don’t have half the o line without it. Or many of our top players.

Danny won’t let football not win. Much like every other program is a title contender.

I expect big changes to staff now. Danny hasn’t had to force it with us making the playoff last year, but he will now.

I agree with this. How is Ethan Davis not in the game in that spot? And Davis was ticked off on the sideline afterwards!

To play devils advocate, do we think he may have been so open because he’s a true freshman? He should have caught it and it was a good call. It did get disrupted some but he still had time to adjust. Heupel probably isn’t used to Ethan Davis being available because he rarely is. I will say I think Joey threw that one a little earlier or harder than he had to which lines up with him being off all night.

You're not going to get better than Heupel with so many other jobs open. Heupel may or may not work long term, but he's safe until our probation is over. Right now, you give him a chance to fix what's wrong. Team needs to be tougher, mentally and physically. We need more/better talent on defense. We need to be better on the OL. We need to make better play calls. Probably need to make some staff adjustments. Either Heupel needs to be willing to make some changes, or DW needs to pressure him to make some changes. But he's not losing his job.

Also, they need to take the new WiFi out of the stadium. Nobody making noise the whole game. Half the stadium on their phones instead of being invested in the game. Not sure what’s more embarrassing between that and our play on the field.

He’s better than Butch, Dooley, & Pruitt lol I mean come on.

But his ceiling might be 10 wins…I’m fine with being in close games and making playoffs every couple years when the talent actually plays to their ratings. But I’m not sure he can win it all…to be fair I didn’t think Phil could either until they did it.

This is where I am at….hopefully with all the coaches getting fired the SEC implodes a little around us.

It seems like the offense struggles against top tier teams and a lot of the stats come against bottom feeder teams.

OU couldn’t stop our WRs all night and yet we kept trying to run the ball in the name of “balance.” The only way OU stopped our passing game was when Joey threw it directly to the DB.
