That's because ESPN doesn't include ABC. The only way you could see it is if it is simulcast on ESPN and you have the proper ESPN package.

Sucks I'll have to eventually use the garbage Hulu experience, but middle men need to add more value than that to justify their existence.

If you truly only care about Disney content, why not get the espn bundle instead of Hulu? That’s the direction they’re trying to push people, and imo it makes sense for most people that just care scout college sports

There's no way Disney said "you cannot offer our content without also offering paramount content and all the other trash content jave36 cares nothing about."

I don't quite understand. If all you care about is the ESPN stuff, then why don't you just go straight to Disney/ESPN. It will cost you less than half of what you'll pay monthly for Youtube TV or Hulu Live.

For as long as cable/cable type streamers existed the contract with carriage rights prevented Disney for putting any of the same properties on cable on any Disney streaming apps. ESPN+: Seperate subscription that allowed you everything not on over the air ABC or on the ESPN app just the extra streaming stuff…PLUS

Now in 2025

Disney has changed all their carriage rights Including those over the air ABC broadcast networks to allow Disney to sell the ESPN Unlimited which has all sports and includes ABC broadcast content.

So if you just have ESPN+ you are still locked into those contracts which says just extra.

If you have just cable provided ESPN, you can get to just what is on your cable provider

If you have Unlimited, eat all you want and yes Unlimited is about taking everyone out of picture and all money/margin straight to Mickey’s(Iger’s) pocket.

Yes Disney has been executing this plan for most of the decade and they have just gotten to where they can cut everyone out.

That's fine with me. I hate sending a single penny to Disney anyway. I'm STRONGLY considering axing both my Youtube TV and ESPN accounts now.

Honestly I didn't know that was an option. How do you watch it, only on the ESPN app?

Vandy probably so.

For OSU - I’d say this is college football now. No team is ever what everyone tries to label them as at week 8. Happens every year in college sports and people still seem surprised (don’t mean you specifically). See Miami after people were hyping them as being “different” than everyone else this year bc they put like 6 really good games together.

Ya that wasn't an option when I last researched it. It was Hulu live or YTTV or sling or fubo. How do you access the espn content if you go that route?

I didn’t say that. Disney said if you want ESPN, you have to take all ESPN properties and Disney Channel, and National Geographic and other Disney properties you may not want. The cable companies/bundlers are being black mailed.

The truth is that if the cable companies went alacart, 80% of grandmas that have cable would not take ESPN but might take Disneychannel for the grandkids and then Disneys pricing model falls apart.

More people get cable for non ESPN channels than ESPN channels.

My last comment, if you really want to understand instead go off your preconceived ideas, read the clay Travis article.

I don’t want to argue just trying to educate you. I have been in the Bristol Connecticut studios more times than I can count.

...and Disney can kiss my ass. I just want to be able to watch games the same way every week. I don't want to have to jump through twenty hoops every week to figure out how Disney has decided to f*** me this week.
