Broken hand Mateer is almost definitely not better than UK's freshman, so you can't make this assumption with a straight face.
Boley
* Passing: 105/158 for 1,215 yds with 9 TDs and 5 INTs; 15 sacks; overall QBR 66.4
* Rushing: 78 yds and 1 TD
* 5 of his passing TDs came against us

Mateer
* Passing: 150/236 for 1.1790 yds with 8 TDs and 6 INTs; 13 sacks; overall QBR 68.6
* Rushing: 226 yds and 5 TDs

Ole Miss gave us the blueprint. Run it if we get a light box. Take shots downfield if they load up. I like our chances winning the one on one battles on the perimeter, Joey just needs to get the ball out on time because OU will have a strong pass rush

This is the plan IMO. If they start rolling Safeties outside to double Brazzell and Matthews then Staley and the TEs HAVE to kill them between the hashes on pass plays. It will be a game long chess match between CJH and Venables.

If we get garbage azz referees like we had for the Arkansas game this year that penalized UT 10 flags to 1 accepted penalty on Arkansas then i might stroke out. I was at the Arkansas game and it was blatantly 1sided and ridiculous. Bama was so ridiculous and one sided that the TV broadcaster who WAS NOT a former Bama QB called them out for calling meaningless penalties on Bama on the last 2min drive "in order to create a false narrative." That NEVER happens. We were penalized 8to1 the previous trip to Bama in 2023. I am sick and tired of the bullcrap. Stupid presnap penalties are one thing. Thats on us. Holding calls and PI calls are drive killers or drive extenders and thats where we always get screwed.

Why did you bold the rushing stats? He hasn't put up much of anything on the ground since the injury. Which has been my point.

But he actually doesn't, that's my point.
Boley: Rushing 78 yds and 1 TD
Mateer: Rushing 226 yds and 5 TDs

226 yds > 78 yds
5 TDs > 1 TD

You can argue it isn’t significantly better than some QBs, but the numbers are what they are.

* BTW, Mateer with 16 carries for 80 yds (5.0 avg) and a rushing TD tonight. That gives him 306 yds on the season and 6 TDs.

Yep. We showed out. We have played three ranked teams and lost all three. Vandy and fla will embarrass us royalty
We kind of did put together a full game but could not execute when it mattered most. If you didn’t know the score in the first half and only had the stats you would think we were dominating. And we were….but we didn’t score.

Domination should include out scoring your opponent. We outplayed OU in stretches but not sure I would call it dominating for the whole game. Three turnovers, a missed field goal, poor execution, and questionable play calling does not define a dominating performance. This was a very winnable game yet we came out on the losing end again.

This post did not age well. There is way too much of an Oklahoma family tree flavor to our offense. I think Landry jones is a QC analyst as well. I’m waiting for Jason White to show up at some point.

We have them almost 150 return yards which basically was the ball game.

And this right here ☝️ is the very reason we as fans should demand better. Danny White needs a scare that his honeypot is about to take a hit. Maybe then he will demand Heupel make necessary adjustments to ensure better product on the field.

Thats why its frustrating...we had the better team. If several different players didnt ALL have HUGE mistakes in this same game then we win by 2TDs. Joey had 2 bad picks. Sanders let a guy run right past him and owns that TD by their defense. JVD lets a critical 4th and 1 pass...out of a rare CJH timeout...hit him in the facemask...Perlotte doesnt pull back and gets a BS penalty when we had them in 3rd and long...there were so many. They scored 13 points off our 3 turnovers. The defense played well enough to finally beat a good team and so the offense craps the bed with 3 turnovers. I get the frustration.

The fact is that we are VERY lucky to have CJH and this staff. Everyone but idiots knew this was an 8-4 or 9-3 type reloading year. Our recruiting has gotten better every single year for 5 years and is now 8th best. We are still climbing the mountain to greatness.

The emotional Negas and tittiebabies who want to fire the staff and bench everyone after every single loss are so annoying that most people avoid the FF for the entire week after a loss. I dont blame them

I like CJH and am thankful for what he has done. However, the team too often plays with either a lack of focus or discipline. I think most expected an 8-4 type year, but this team is good enough to be undefeated right now and also bad enough to finish 7-5. It is just frustrating to see the mistakes happen.
