SEC Now disrespect

I usually don’t participate in the “the whole world hates us” discussions, but Joey seems to be unfairly ignored.

He’s not a pro prospect, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a very good college QB having an excellent season. Plus, he seems like a great young man and is a great story.

He should be getting more recognition IMO.
Exactly. Pavia is certainly not an NFL QB either but they have no problem slobbering all over him.

What is even crazier is that they put up a stat that only Peyton Manning had thrown for more yards at this point in a season and it was not even by much.

These talking heads are empty echos with no sense of understanding. It's a tempo offense that relies on a strong run game to have a solid air strike. It is/can be/hasbeen a quick strike. I'ts kinda designed that way. But, the quick strikes can be equally from the run as the pass. It is not a pass first, pass often, pass all the time offense. Nobody acknowledges that just because he likes to line up and go quick.

You are wasting your time on the heistman crap. It's an award that no one respects anymore because they give it out based on popularity. May as well call it the ESPN heistman award.

I don't see how anyone watches this channel unless UT is playing live. I can't stand other SEC teams (except Auburn) and the excessive goober-smooching of UAT disgusts me. Plus seeing these other conference teams that I loathe put on a pedestal makes me gag. The only time I see it is if I'm in a sports bar.
I watch sometimes to see Kentucky lose.

Diego Pavia is a stud at quarterback. Although you may not like him or his attitude, there’s no question that he controls the game and manages the entire offense while also sitting high on the boards for stats.

I’m not saying he’s better than Aguilar or others, but there’s no doubt that he’s a good quarterback and deserves to be up there at the top five especially with the team that he’s on
I don't disagree with his presence, command, and stats. And you are correct calling me out...I'm jaded against an insufferable cocky player that can't back up his loud mouth with his on-field play.

I disagree that he should be considered a Heisman contender.

Nationally, there are 19 other qbs ranked higher than him.

Considering conference play only, there are 95 quarterbacks ranked higher than him. So...just like Heupel is accused of, Go Diego Go has done a good job of beating up on inferior opponents:

Charleston Southern (ranked #87, FCS)
Virginia Tech (ranked #88)
Georgia State (ranked #131)
Utah State (ranked #79)

In conference play, he averages a paltry 166 yards per game. His wins? LSU (we now know sucks). South Carolina (we now know sucks).

I just think it's nuts that he would be considered a Heisman candidate over more qualified players.

That's a bit of a stretch. Trying to equate missing a game winning FG in one game to being within one score in three and losing by double digits in another one is interesting.
It was a little tongue in cheek but not far from it. They got hosed against OU and many believe against UGA.
Youre still missing the point regardless. Auburn fans can say they were a handful of plays (some of which were out of their control) away from having a really good season instead of being one of the worst teams. I saw a lot people basically saying "we're one play away from not losing to Bama by 17!" Who cares? Who cares about missing the FG? Im over it. Im tired of years of saying things like that.
Tenn hasn't beaten anyone worth a flip. Im tired of almost being really good. Another former big12 team is about to go to the SEC champ game before Tenn goes back.
I get its all about reaching the playoffs and Tenn made it last year, and won the orange bowl in 22. But one can argue they choked then and got lucky with their schedule last year and only beat a mediocre Bama team.
Im just over looking for positives in losses when it matters.

Nah. “System QB” bias, BS.

Still gotta make the throws and lead the offense.
It funny that there are many really good college QBs who were never good pros but I would take them in a heartbeat. I don’t care what they say about Joey - the guy is a winner. People trash Tim Tebow and Stetson Bennett because they weren’t good in the pros - I don’t even watch pro football. Those guys won championships in college and College football is my favorite sport…

Roman Harper is the most Alabama homer of all their personalities. He thinks there isn't another team worthy of his praise. Is why his commentary is so overshadowed by Cole Cubelic on any analysis of plays. Cubelic makes Harper look like someone trying to learn a football play. Think he is the least liked of those on SEC gameday show. But of course no one goes to Paul Finebaum on any analysis of a play. How Finebaum gets a cushy job talking football and not even playing a down is crazy. He made his bed by just taking a controversial situation in college football and taking the dark side of it and making the most of it by stirring the pot. He really has no credibility in college football as far as knowledge of the game.
He’s beyond sucks. I turn it off when he is on now.

Pavia makes their offense go and is a really good player but him being 10th in the SEC in passing yards(650 behind Joey) makes it a bit of a tough sell as top 5 QB in the SEC, particularly ahead of Joey. Even if you add in Pavia's rushing yards, he is still almost 200 yards behind Joey's passing alone. Both have accounted for 20 total TDs.
Passing yards means very little. He’s thrown for 15 td(i believe top 5 or so)and has a rating near 150(3rd in the sec)
