Rumors about VT interest in JH

I'm gonna list all the places Heupel might end up leaving Knoxville for. Here goes:

- wherever Danny White is AD.
- that's about it.

Oh, Danny is in Knoxville? Settled, then. Josh isn't going anywhere.

Why is this true? Well, first, those two are long-time partners, and also friends. But second, and more to the point, Dan White isn't going to let any other program outbid him for Josh's services. There's no amount any school could offer that Tennessee can't match.

Third and finally, Josh is building a legacy here. It takes stability at one place for a while to get a legacy going. Moving constantly is anathema to legacy. Josh knows that. He's going nowhere.

Go Vols!

I have to agree here. Heupel and all these SEC coaches have more money than they can spend. I genuinely believe Heupel knows Neyland Stadium and UT is one of the top environments in college football. You could see when he beat Oklahoma last year how special it was for him, so he's not going back there either.

Saw a Clay Travis clip where he says the perfect coach for LSU is Nick Saben. Pay him 100 million for 4 years. Why would he do that? Makes no sense for him to undertake those kind of stresses. And, the reason he gave for leaving Alabama was the way NIL has changed how coaching morphed into the NFL. Why would he jump back in? Answer is, he won't, and Heupel won't head to VT.
I agree

VT absolutely will not get JH. They can't afford him and he knows what a dead end the job would be. I could see FL scratching up the money and having a fertile recruiting ground in it's back yard being tempting but why start another rebuild from that far down when you are almost rebuilt here.

I'd seriously think about it if I was him. Expectations are very different. Their conference is MUCH more manageable. VA is full of upper level prospects. The media scrutiny isn't near what it is in Kville. VT has their advantages. Their biggest disadvantage is that they are NIL poor as compared to UT.
