Lindsey Nelson Stadium,

Anybody in the know whether the turf is set to be replaced before this season. I assumed a new stadium would mean new turf.

Also, any talk about an upgraded scoreboard along with the PA system updates?

Great question! Need a matte finish on the grass blade fibers…

Turf, yes. I sure wish they’d have real dirt on the base paths. New permanent PA eventually. The temp one in the outfield that they used this past year is wayyyy better than what we had.

Scoreboard. Believe it or not, the one there now is new. They needed to move the scoreboard next to the batters eye and put a standing room path around the perimeter that leads to some outfield stands.

These pictures are handy.

When I was over there this weekend, I noticed the blockwork on the LF side. Do we know what that is? Concessions and bathrooms I assume? Maybe I looked at the renderings wrong but I didn't recognize that.

The other thing I noticed was the little concrete gap between the 'old' part of the stadium (the 2 seat wide section) and the student section. Looked odd. Wonder if that's gonna be covered up in some way...

From folks requesting refunds on season tickets, to expanding with a third deck. What a week it's been for Vol Baseball. :p
For those of you with a subscription to The Athletic or the New York Times, here is a great article.

Though it’s written about Florida State, it could just as easily have been about any school with a big football program, basketball program, or baseball program.
