True. I don't care about unions. The one good thing Trump has done this term is to try and decertify a bunch of unions. My agencies unions are scared sh!tless and its great. Want efficient government? Sh!tcan the unions. Funny seeing so many MAGA become pro union nowSES GS16s aren’t interested. They got fancy watches marked up by the orange mans tarriffs, drivin $130k beamers, and million$ homes at risk.
Orange man bad so the SES say…
He must be President if he can singlehandedly shut down the government. Its as if he controls all three branches of government. Oh wait, thats Republicans trying to pretend their not to blame for not being able to keep the government they have full control of open.Don't know about President Schumer, but that is my opinion of Senate Minority Leader Schumer.

I'm a big supporter of the filibuster and will fight to keep it but it should not be used to shutdown the gov't. A minority should not have that much powerIt's one of the few checks and balances the minority has left.

Specifically in this instance the Dems want something that they lack the votes to pass. They can't get a majority of votes to support it, let alone 60. That's our system. Lots of political ideas fail to garner the necessary votes to become law. When that happens, you move on but you don't get to shut down the gov't over it. This is nuts
Minority should have the power to shut the gov't down with less than 50%? Gotta disagree with you there. That's a recipe for chaos. It's the hill they have chosen to die on and what their constituents voted for. And yes the minority should always have that power when they have the votes.

One more thing, how can the Senate even bring up spending bills? Don't those things have to start in the House? If the House doesn't send them a spending bill the Senate can't vote on it
I really do not think you're as stupid as your comment here would indicate. He must be President if he can singlehandedly shut down the government. No one is blocking the vote. The vote will occur for a 13th time todayIn this case the house has sent the senate a bill and the Dems using perfectly legal methods are blocking a vote on it. That power should never be taken away.

Government shutdown live updates as Senate votes for 13th time on GOP funding bill
The government shutdown is now on Day 28 as the Senate holds a 13th procedural vote on a bill to end the impasse. Follow live updates here.www.cbsnews.com
It shouldn't be this easy to shut down the gov't. It needs to be far far more difficult than 41%
the spending bill is the canary in the coal mine. that may not be the correct phrase. its the first issue that has been bad enough to get the publics attention in a meaningful way. the issue goes beyond the spending CR or additions. No one is blocking the vote. The vote will occur for a 13th time today

IMO it should take 60 to shut down the gov't, not to open it.No, it shouldn't be any harder to shut down the government. There shouldn't be exceptions to Senate rules just for spending bills.
Germany’s law states that if the legislature does not enact a budget before the start of the fiscal year, funding continues at the previous year’s amount to maintain institutions, meet obligations, and continue construction projects, benefits, and services.
