There can be some nuance to it. I heard on radio that BK is owed roughly $740k per month for the next 7 years pursuant to the contract. I believe he has a mitigation clause. Obviously, lump sum might be of interest to some people, so maybe they were offering to pay him a portion all upfront. Time value of money. Also, sometimes, I see negotiate and think the school is just trying to “negotiate” with its donors how it’s going to get paid.So is this something that normally happens and we just never hear about it? I guess I’m confused as to why BK would even consider that? I’d laugh in their faces as I tell them who to make the check out to.
You're missing the entire point. We let players walk we should have paid. We were all screaming for the youth movement........ Well you got it.You got the numbers? I’ll guarantee there are teams allocating less funds for NIL and Recruiting that have a Defense that’s not currently rated in the hundreds
As a native Louisiananian I whole heartedly agree. This is typical Louisiana political overreach. Regardless, Kelly is now gone, and though he is not a likable guy, he deserves his buyout. Don’t shortchange him. It’s dishonest- even on an obscure “fine print” technicality.Right? They didn't cheat Ed O out of what they owed him did they? Pay the man what you were dumb enough to promise him. Heck, I think I have a good argument that the Governor, who pulled the trigger on firing him should have to pay Kelly's buyout himself. But I'll be fair. I don't even think we should take it out of his salary. He can pay it out of some of those bribes and kickbacks the office generates.
