since it wasn't being addressed I tried to do some digging. the Prek program started in 2015.I just wanted this to have another shot at being read by anyone that missed it the first time.
No worries, Mandami the Commie will crawl to Trump to bail him out. And that conversation will be epic.since it wasn't being addressed I tried to do some digging. the Prek program started in 2015.
2015 8.4 million, 2019 8.3 million, 2025 8.48, population is pretty stagnant over the time frame below.
in 2015 182k+ were on cash assistance in NYC.
in 2019 330k+ were on cash assistance in NYC. I chose 2019 to avoid covid throwing the numbers.
in 2025 770k+ were on cash assistance in NYC.
in 2025 there are about 2 million living in poverty.
2019 it was 1.4 million
2015 it was 1.7 million
2025 it is 1:4 children are food insecure.
2019 it was 1:5 children who were food insecure.
couldn't find 2015 NYC data, but in the state it was around 1:5 (19%).
2015 30.4% passed literacy tests
2019 57% passed literacy tests (test was changed in 2017, can't find info on how it was changed)
2025 isn't out, but 2024 was 49%
I couldn't find specific childhood domestic (family or caregiver) violence, but I would hope this was helped by default of removing the children from a bad situation at least temporarily. although some reports suggested adults abandoning their less than 5 year old kids has gone up over the time frame, but I didn't find conclusive data. as in actual numbers.
so the ONLY apparent success of this prek program was an increase is literacy, even though it has been a pretty elastic improvement. and it includes a changed test, and metrics, from previous years. so yeah, I am not seeing how this helped NYC.
No, saying Elon and Thiel types aren't leftists is absolutely correct, and even if you disregard context and say "most billionaires are leftists" that isn't true either. You don't know what a leftist is or what a "commie" is, which is why you embarrass yourself every time you randomly pick a fight like thisNo Sally, time for you to man up and admit your argument is full of shyte. But you are a commie, so you'll double down.
For these two, what would the scores have done without the additional funding though? What other factors were involved? Internet and smart phones along with a lazier and less responsible population haven't helped us in education or a lot of other things.can you give us an example of where the government spending money on something actually fixed the problem since TVA?
we (government) spend more on healthcare, healthcare scores go down.
we (government) spend more on education, education goes down.
We can go back to Vietnam with that. A lot of what's spent isn't for land wars in the third world.we (government) spend more on the military, get our butts kicked by Afghanistan.
Goes back to Prohibition and is a misguided effort. Spend the money on rehab.we (government) spend more on the war on drugs, cartels making even more money.
There's been progress and regression in transportation but the interstate highway system is a net positive. And a lot of social program funding's beneficial. Public libraries, school meals, etc. help society.I am sure we have averted some national crisis like making sure the three dot blue sloth salamander didn't go extinct; but on the mission critical items government spending does not make things better.
you wouldn't be handing anything to the billionaires. its theirs already. you just wouldn't be taking more than we (government) are.
