Not a fan of military actions. Would prefer this mainly be handled through economic sanctions against Venezuela and any of their large trading partners.

I'm not a fan of military actions or economic sanctions. We're $38 trillion in debt and these guys are talking about starting yet another war we can't finish or pay for? A war in Venezuela would be another Vietnam.
As for sanctions, the US sanctions on Venezuela have been one of the big causes of massive migration of Venezuelans to the USA. The worse we damage their economy, the more they come here. Even worse, Biden & Trump have caused and are continuing to cause global de-dollarization through weaponizing the dollar with sanctions and confiscations, belligerent behavior, unpredictable economic policies and flip-flops (tariffs, for example), smug disrespect of nearly everyone around the world and, of course, the out-of-control debt. This has been one of the big drivers in the price of gold going parabolic too, as nations around the world divest of US dollars and pile into gold.

You should watch less Tucker. It would in no way be Vietnam. Just like how Iran wasn’t Iraq.
Biden lifted restrictions against Venezuelan oil and illegal immigration from Venezuela sky rocketed.
Rather the real driver has been their own poor domestic policies. This white guilt foreign policy the left tries is an absolute joke and falsely assumes the actions of all other countries to be merely a reaction to the US

I don't watch Tucker. Maybe I'm listening to too many men like Col. Douglas Macgregor, Lt. Col. Daniel Davis, etc. instead of trusting the infinite wisdom of Marco Rubio.
It's true that Biden lifted a portion of the sanctions on Venezuela, albeit very briefly before reimposing most of them. But the fact remains that a lot of Venezuelans have been coming to the USA for economic reasons. It's bad enough that they have their own incompetent government making life hard for them, but when the US government piles on and adds to their financial demise, worsening economic conditions cause an increase in the number of economic migrants.
The sanctions aren't doing the American people any favors either, as the Federal Reserve has to step in and buy an increasing amount of US Treasuries as foreign countries divest from them as to not be vulnerable to US sanctions.
As you can see in this chart, the divestment of Chinese ownership of US Treasuries accelerated when we put sanctions on Russia. While far from being the sole driver of inflation, it's been a contributing factor.

I agree that people should work on domestic policies instead of blaming others. Japan and South Korea don't have to go around blowing up random Venezuelan boats because the Venezuelans would be wasting their time to ship drugs to countries where there's no market for their products. Instead of blaming Venezuela, we should try to be more like Japan, South Korea, and a long list of other nations that aren't completely overrun with crack whores.
Has 0 to do with the sanctions
Sorry we put sanctions on your favorite country (Russia). We should put more sanctions on them. China has never owned more than around 1.2 to 1.4 trillion in our treasury debt. We have over 30 trillion in such debt. That’s not as significant as you’re trying to make it.
lol isn’t this the same guy you shared a conspiracy theory about Charlie Kirk from?
Edit: to be fair, it wasn’t you. I found the actual post. But it shows what level of a joke this YouTuber is. You can find a retired Col to confirm anything you want to believe. There’s plenty of them.
Also, 100% the type of insane YouTube video a Tucker fan would watch
Zero to do with sanctions?
How would Russia be my favorite country? Even though I spent my entire childhood in the USA, I've spent roughly 30% of my life outside of the United States now, in quite a few countries, but I've never even been to Russia. It sounds like you're just emoting.
We're already skirting our own sanctions on Russia to buy many of the things we need from the Russians. If we add more sanctions on, we'll just have to skirt them even more.
Link: US Imports from Russia up 30% in 2025
China owned $1.316 trillion in US Treasuries at the peak and it's down to $0.730 trillion. That's a significant drop of $586 billion, equal to the USA's entire national debt amassed between the founding of our nation up until 1981. Just because our debt is over $38 trillion now doesn't mean that doesn't matter.
It just means we're wasting massive amounts of money on stupid stuff like this operation off the coast of Venezuela. It's a great example of why we're becoming so indebted so rapidly, with our national debt crossing the $37 trillion mark in August and the $38 trillion mark just a few days ago. It'll be interesting to see if we hit $39 trillion before or after the end of the calendar year. My guess is after, but not by much. Another prediction is after the operation in Venezuela ends, we'll be well over $40 trillion in debt and there'll be just as many crackheads on Gay Street and Market Square as there were before this started, and that the drug problem in the USA won't be reduced one iota.
I've never, ever talked about Charlie Kirk as I never heard a single word he said during his entire life.
Col. Douglas Macgregor is one of the best living US combat commanders. He was the operations officer of 2nd Squadron 2nd ACR during the 1991 Battle of 73 Easting. Troops under his command caused catastrophic damage to the Iraqi Republican Guard and suffered no casualties during the battle. By all means, post some videos of more qualified or similarly qualified combat veteran officers of the rank of colonel as well as other ranks to talk about the US involvement in Venezuela because I'm very interested in hearing what they have to say.
Allow me to introduce you to Charlie…
Thoughts?
Would you be surprised to know that if you invested your money in the stock market that it historically doubles every 7 years ?I agree with most of what he said: spend less than you earn, don't blow all of your money on drinks, you have to solve problems in order to be useful, etc. I'm surprised he was able to make a business out of that, though. Did he sell a lot of Turning Point USA t-shirts or what?
I never said I was unfamiliar with Tucker. I watched his interview of Putin. I had just never listened to Kirk. I'm surprised Kirk even interviewed someone born in the 1940s, since the news said he was constantly going to college campuses. I've seen Col. Macgregor on Judge Napolitano's YouTube channel and I listened to him talking about Venezuela on Lt. Col. Daniel Davis's "Deep Dive" YouTube channel. Even if you go to YouTube and type "Douglas Macgregor" in the search bar and set the filter to just this week alone, there are dozens if not hundreds, maybe even thousands of videos of Col. Macgregor on there posted just this week alone. I stopped scrolling after at least 100. I said I listen to him. I didn't say I listened to hundreds of his interviews per week. The Col he claims to have followed so closely was also a podcast guest of both Kirk and Tucker. Both of whom he claims to be unfamiliar with. Weird…
No he was just changing young liberal indoctrinated minds…I agree with most of what he said: spend less than you earn, don't blow all of your money on drinks, you have to solve problems in order to be useful, etc. I'm surprised he was able to make a business out of that, though. Not at all. If President Trump had invested the money he inherited from his father into an S&P index fund and golfed every day instead of working, he'd be worth several multiple of what he's worth now.Would you be surprised to know that if you invested your money in the stock market that it historically doubles every 7 years ?

Speaking of which, I'm still waiting on a you to post a video of a colonel offering a counterpoint to Col. Macgregor's assessment of our government's policy regarding Venezuela. You said there were plenty, but I'll settle to hear a couple as I like to read and hear various points of view.
Wrong. He's worth around 5-7 billion today. His inheritance is estimated to be less than $500 million in today's dollarsNot at all. Nearly everyone except the Dixie Chicks was wrong about Iraq. They were against the invasion before being against the invasion was cool. It wasn't until around 2006 when everyone throughout the USA sneaked and took down their yellow ribbons in the middle of the night. Today, the general consensus is the invasion of Iraq was stupid, but it was "the Christian thing to do" at the time. At least Col. Macgregor learned from his mistake, unlike most Americans. You don’t have to be a Col to counter someone’s opinion on Venezuela. Your homie supported the war in Iraq and supports Russia against Ukraine.
There’s numerous people across the world, Col, generals, etc who would all disagree with him on a variety of issues.
You should just take your L here

He doesn't support the Russians, and I've listened to a lot of his interviews on this topic on Judge Napolitano and elsewhere. He says the West and NATO screwed up by overthrowing Ukraine's government in 2014 and causing the war to happen. Obviously, that's true. Entire generations of Ukrainian men have been killed because of US policies there, 1,500,000 Ukrainian refugees fled to Russia, and Europe's brothels are filled to the brim with Ukrainian "talent" because of this. I guess British dudes going to Amsterdam for stag parties are excited about how things have turned out, but it hasn't turned out well for the average Ukrainian.

People in the Ukraine war thread on Volnation were giddy with excitement over Ukraine's 2023 summer offensive until it got bogged down a few miles from where it began. Col. Macgregor said it would fail and he was right. That doesn't mean that he gave active support to the armed forces of the Russian Federation or contributed in any way whatsoever to the Ukrainians getting bogged down near Robotyne and being eventually expelled. That's like saying a lot of Vol fans on this website who predicted Bama would beat Tennessee in the Volnation score prediction thread actively supported Bama, as if we ourselves ran back the pick six. No, we just looked at it objectively instead of emoting.
