Road to Playoffs IMO - Post UK

LSU is now eliminated. Mizzou with the QB injury will get a few more losses.

Basically it is looking like it will finish up:

1- A&M
2- Bama
3- Georgia
4- Ole Miss
5- Vandy
6- Tennessee

Our only hope is an Ole Miss loss for us to be 4th in SEC standings. We would be ahead of them in the tiebreaker. But I think TX AM has to drop out of the SEC championship game for us to still have a chance. In that situation, I think the committee would have to talk about the ONLY 2 LOSSES are Bama and Georgia. Right now, any loss between Mizzou and/or Texas is a worse loss. If TX AM makes the playoffs then I think it becomes musical chairs for top 3 SEC teams and the 4th team (Tennessee) is left out. You still have to anticipate Notre Dame slipping in and replacing a 10-2 team.
SEC - 3 lock 4 potential
B10 - 3 lock 4 potential
B12 - 1 lock 2 potential
ACC -1 lock 2 potential
Group of 5 - 1 lock
Notre Dame ??

I personally think we will be on the outside looking in. The only way I see the SEC getting 5 teams in will be if Miami has another loss or Georgia Tech loses (they play Georgia). It will be hard for me to see the ACC actually getting 2 teams in.

Yeah my cutoff with the SEC is 3 if TX Am goes to champ game. The cutoff would be 4 if they aren't in the SEC champ game. The loser Bama/Georgia would be the 5th overall playoff spot, TX am being around 7-8th and the TN as a 10-2 gets the 10-11th spot.

Yes, there is a chance 5 sec teams make it. If Miami or GTech lose it would help that.GBO

If I had to guess as of right now, here are the teams I would say are pretty safe bets to be in the playoffs:
Big 10: Ohio State, Indiana, Oregon
ACC: Whomever wins the CG
Big 12: Whomever wins the CG
SEC: Alabama, Georgia, A&M(unless they lose a couple)
G5 champ

If A&M gets in, that would leave 4 open spots.
Big 10 only gets a fourth team if USC wins out, including a win @Oregon(which would put them in danger) or Michigan wins out with a win over Ohio State.
Big 12 only gets a second team if BYU goes undefeated including a win @ Texas tech but loses a close game in the CG.
ACC likely only gets a second team if Miami wins out but doesn't make the CG.
ND will be debatable even if they win out with USC being their only decent win.
SEC would have Tennessee, Ole Miss, Missouri, and Vandy as potential candidates if they finish 10-2. For all four to finish 10-2(or better), that would mean we beat Vandy and Vandy beat Missouri and would also mean Missouri beats A&M.
You need to add Ole Miss (unless they lose 1 more game)

I can't see a scenario at all with 5 SEC teams making playoffs. You still have to anticipate Notre Dame PITTSBURGH, VIRGINIA. Pittsburgh can beat out Miami and Georgia Tech to go the ACC Champ game and then lose to Virginia (who has the best chance of making ACC champ game). The reality is 5 teams in ANY conference is a stretch. SEC and B10 are locked in with 3 though.

ESPN projects 5 SEC teams in playoffs with the last one being Vandy. One could discern that if we win out, espn might project us being that 5th team.
