What QB do you want from the transfer portal next year?

Nico tried to negotiate his current deal and we said no. He then pouted about it and looked elsewhere for greener pastures. Turns out there wasn’t one. Still doesn’t change the face we need to replace our quarterback and having an experienced QB with a minimal learning curve who has zero negotiating power might be worth looking at. Once again, tell me you don’t make business decisions without telling me
You're making a fool out of yourself. Saying "give me more money than I'm worth or I quit" is not a negotiation.

If only there were some way to see how Nico would look in a Josh Heupel offense.

And lol at comparing an Appalachian State loss to a playoff team to a blowout loss to a conference opponent that isn’t exactly crawling with 5 stars

11-3 record in his first calendar year of playing.

He’s now experienced and had multiple years in a S&C program and guess what, would have zero learning curve while getting LESS dollars than what he initially was.

Just say you have hurt feelings instead of saying “he’d be awful here”…. The record doesn’t back that up.

Like I said, you're making an absolute fool of yourself. Nico is never stepping foot in Knoxville again, unless he's playing for another SEC team.

I’m not saying he is. I’m literally giving my answer to the question in the thread title. Apparently you have an issue or emotional reaction to people’s answers to a very general question being asked.

Little man syndrome is strong here for some reason.

And it's not rational or logical or reasonable. Enjoy the game

Correct.

If we get a portal transfer it’ll be for depth. Like Harrison Bailey at Florida this year.
I believe we will get a 1 year stop gap at QB, then turn it over to Faizon or G-Mac the following year. I can't imagine G-Mac nor Faizon being ready to take over the reins next season. I could definitely be wrong, but hoping we won't need a RS or True FR QB leading us next year.

we dont need a qb next year
Not sure anybody knows this, not even the Coach's. Rolling with a True FR or RS FR isn't ideal if we don't have to. I absolutely can see us grabbing a 1 year starter in the portal. I'd actybe shocked if we don't get one. I'm betting Merk probably hits the portal, then a portal QB starts next year, then the following is when GMac or Faizon take over. I've been wrong before so who knows, but I'll be surprised if we don't get a portal QB to start next year

Why? This is professional sports now. Nico lost his payday. We are losing a QB will have to break in a new starter that is likely a freshman or redshirt freshman.

We also need to overhaul the OC position as well.

Nico lost a very sweet package here and knows Heupel’s system.

It’s simple. Offer him a cheaper deal than he had and more than what he has now and tell his dad to kick rocks and GTFO.

I’m personally over the idea of recruiting quarterbacks and developing them in this new era of football. Go find a mercenary QB with multiple years of eligibility and make a business decision.

Why is there someone that always say something moronic? Nico is a bad passer. He could never hit deep balls and had everyone blaming the receivers. All we had was how tough he is. The reason was because he was slow to read the defense.

So all those issues came in his first year of playing. And then he decided to change staffs that likely stunted his development. No one with a brain can say he wouldn’t have developed with another season under the same system and staff he entered college in.

Also - our record with him was 11-3 as a starter. Such a moronic idea….

Once again, just say you’re too emotional and have hurt feelings over the topic of Nico. It would make the discussion simpler.

Too many sensitive people.
