I think it’s odd that everyone under the sun from those invested in Tennessee one way or another to outsiders in the media.. everyone says it should be Elander.

Coastal or UGA’s coach are both great options, but I don’t see why we couldn’t make the call after we give Elander his opportunity first.

why does everyone think Elander is head coach material? A good assistant coach does not a head coach make. Im not saying he want be good at the job. Im just curious why it has to be him or bust.

That’s what I would do. That’s why I didn’t understand Frank as interim so Josh could “interview”.. just make him the interim and let the teams performance this year be his interview.

I think sometimes it’s just a difference in philosophy. Do coaches win games or do players. I can’t imagine Frank Anderson changing much, and I don’t think Josh or Ross will change that much. What they can do with players is a known commodity and I should be including Q in all of this as well.

We don’t know who Tony will take and he could take Q I guess, we don’t know what we don’t know.

As a fan, I have no cards. I’m in wait and see mode, we all are.

But, I’m ready to roll and I hope we can keep the recruiting class.

The fact that Anderson was named interim tells me all I need to know. Can you imagine how difficult it would be to go another direction if Elander were given a full year and killed it? White doesn't want Elander. He'll let Anderson run the show, but we'll have a new coach before the season and Elander won't be the guy. I think he wants to clean house.

It seemed to work with Tony, if there was any truth to the rumors of any type of friction or ill ease.
I could easily understand if Danny White felt somewhat insufficient standing beside Vitello…

I bet ya Danny talks directly to Heupel at least weekly.

Well if we let a National Championship winning coach go because he wanted to be dollar for dollar on NIL deals for an Elite football program maybe Danny needs to start talking with Heupel on getting better staff and making the football program truly like a championship caliber operation as baseball was.

Here’s one for you - when the dust settles before next season (2026) both Elander and Frank will be gone. I suspect Frank will retire and had Tony V’s departure followed the normal track at the close of season, Elander would have probably gotten a head coaching gig at some other program. Elander and Frank are far too attached to Tony V for Danny dollar to allow them to remain here and the new hire will bring in his own staff.

You just can’t replicate what Tony V did here - it was a Herculean lift.

TN baseball fans and casuals have had the opportunity to see Tony V take TN baseball to the Mount Everest of college baseball - but stick around because you are getting ready to see it crumble into obscurity.

I kept this receipt. Are you willing to eat some crow, get rid of that ridiculous avatar, and admit that "Danny Dimes" isn't the disaster AD that you've been claiming?

Time to breathe a sigh of relief. Elander was INSTRUMENTAL to TVs epic run, and I have faith he will challenge himself to take that momentum and propel us to new heights. Congrats on the promotion CJE!
