Same here, Ulysees. The thing is, I love the game of baseball, it was my first sports love...the insane and stupid unfairness of the MLB financial system ruined that for me, but thanks to Tony building us into a powerful and super fun baseball program, that love was getting rekindled...Tony made CBB matter to me.
I hope it doesn't come crashing down now, but I just don't have much hope that we will continue to be an elite baseball program. Imo it has not been built long and strong enough to have the kind of foundation which can withstand this.
Tony didn't want to leave.I know...and that was because of Tony. I really hope Elander gets the job, and can continue to build out the program.
If White goes another direction...then I hope whoever he hires has the right mojo to pick up where Tony left it. I know Tony ain't the only great head baseball coach in the college game....so just gotta go find that dude if he's not already on the team.
Average cost of incarceration is between $70-100K per. That annualized figure looks like somewhere between a B and a T, dollars to tax payers a year. It's a start. . . surprised you're against it. . .
we lost super seniors and our best players to the draft guys. in his defense we only had 6 years to recruit other guys to replace them.
no other teams has to deal with that!
also, as DC, it isnt up to him to recruit safeties. That's on the safeties coach!
So, you see there is a ballad excuse for us executing the 'lay prostrate' defense.
Seriously, i'm glad there is only one porthole.
Have a feeling we are going to see lots of movement to overhaul this defense. I bet lots will leave, and some not voluntarily. And we'll be spending some coin.
If this staff thinks it can find a safety in bargain bin aisle, it will find itself right back in same spot. Have to go find a starter.
I agree but I think it goes deeper than that with TV. Not only did he win, embodied Tennessee. At a time when there wasn't a lot of good things happening, he came out of nowhere and reminded us that we were Tennessee. I think he had a much larger effect than just baseball. My opinion? If you bring the University of Tennessee and its fanbase a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP...then you are a VFL regardless.

I sit where the recruits, coaches, and people with field passes go on to the field. Everyone, fans, recruits, current and former players, they all flocked to TV. He was a rockstar. TV will always be Tennessee in my book.
I highly doubt that he ever will again. We'd have to hire a coach, he have a terrible run, fire him. Then have Tony jobless or wanting to come back to college again after a major league season ending in September or October. Chances are well below 0.5%.I might just be going through the normal stages of grief (currently in denial), but I think Tony V will be in a Tennessee baseball uniform again at some point.
This is fandom, not political or civic opinions. What do you propose we do? Lock anyone with diverging opinions away? Throughout history, that has worked sooo well.
I'll give you a pass on this one. As I hope its sarcasm. This is fandom, not political or civic opinions.
There is no place for tolerance in fandom. I suppose you also approve of marrying enemies like the inbred Bammers and trashy Gators and even the barking Mutts from Athens too?
Hey, let's invite SEC and NCAA officials over for supper too...
Give me a break! They all belong in a shallow grave!![]()
