But I’ll eventually cool down on Tony, and remember the good times. Hopefully.

And Danny hasn’t missed on a hire yet. I’ll maintain the faith that he’ll get this one right, too. He’s good for Tennessee - I want him here.

Yall ever get the sense that the Tennesseee fan base can be pretty segregated? Like, I’m pretty sure there are plenty of people who only live in say the baseball forum or lady vols forum. And they all seem to hate the other programs or at least not respect them. It’s weird.

Ahhh.... we needed Danny to clean up our athletic department and get the gumps out but he's gone wild with amenities, especially the ones nobody in my tax bracket asked for. I would consider him one of the best ADs in the country but I don't care much for his "elitist" type of personality. UT needs him.


*Danny White reminds me of some bosses I've had, above all.... they want to be right every time and they want to be filthy rich. They can also look you right in the eye and lie to get you to do what they want. They're kings of spinning webs of deceit, sprinkling them with powdered sugar, and serving them to anyone hungry for the truth. It took me a few years to hone my detection skills and DW's presser was making me itchy. Hopefully he gives Elander a shot but I'm afraid he's going to get rid of "Tony's guys" and bring in someone else. And honestly, it'll be a good hire, but it's going to rub the fans and Tony's former players wrong. Which will not bother DW at all, because that's just how he is.

Tony made his choice & left, whatever his reasoning that’s the end of it.

DW has hundreds of employees, I work in a large organization and I’ve never met my main boss in the 8 years I’ve been here. He’s also got a job to do in finding the best hire to fill the enormous shoes left.

I appreciate that he asked Frank to be the interim. I fully believe whoever he hires will be someone he thinks is the best candidate for the job. Him asking Elander to interview is a positive imo. Having him go through that process will benefit both DW & Elander.

I agree. DW is gonna go through his process. Surely he has a short list of candidates for every sport at UT. You have to be prepared if things go south. His job is to get this right and him taking little time to go through his options is the best way to do it. I hope it’s comes back to Elander based on former players input but there may be someone else out there that is better. Very few, if any of us, know anything about college baseball coaches other than what their records are and we have to google that.

Welp, this old woman has lost her eye candy, but I’m ready to move on. CJH said it best, no one is above than the brand of the VOLS. I paraphrased, but it holds true. The blame game will probably go on for days until Danny White announces the next head coach and we heal. I wish Tony the best, but he is no longer one of us. On to the next coach.

Nevermind it's not worth the argument....

Actually there's plenty of good people in the Baseball Forum, they respect and love the football just as much as everyone else. Just as this thread does if someone new arrives and flies in like a ball of fire of course their going to strike back..
