I would be willing to bet TV lost out on some players because of lack of resources. I'm sure that doesn't sit well. You can't expect your coaches to be 100% in when you are 90% in.
People keep referencing #1 rated class, as it somehow demonstrates zero lack of resources.

How many players in that class that are headed directly to the MLB draft?

Those players we “landed” don’t cost anything, but look great on paper - Top30 type guys that are never gonna be here, but juice the ranking.

How many Top100ish players did we lose out on due to a lack of resources?

I’d much rather have the #73 player committed than the #9 player, if there’s zero chance the #9 is ever gonna get here.

I’m rooting for him specifically so he doesn’t wind up at a rival college baseball team.
Exactly what I was thinking lol

IF tony is successful, I could see a lot of other teams trying this move as well.

I really do wish him the best in the MLB, if it werent for him id have 0 interest in baseball (not that I had a lot to begin with)

I have a hard time believing Danny White didn't care about keeping Tony. Danny White likes winning and he knew Tony was a winner. I just choose to believe it's nobody's fault as Tony got an opportunity to chase a dream. I left some great jobs with great friends for a better opportunity and it wasn't anybody's fault. It just happens sometimes. I agree you are way more balanced than many on this board which is why I stated in my original post to you as you seemed a little more wound up than normal. All good.

Welp, hope you enjoy playing Tony at Arkansas in a few years!
if that's the case, then so be it. He had one foot out the door to Tamu. I like Tony and I wish him well. But, unless other wise stated my view is he wanted more NIL backing, painted DW in a corner on wanting more. DW likely tried, but knows how to run his ship.

Good luck.

Tony was a dynamic stud of a baseball coach and made it must see TV. I loved having him here and wish he had stayed but he got a great opportunity to chase a dream. Not sure why people feel the need to blame our AD who has given him a ton of resources. Sometimes talented people get hired for a perceived better opportunity. Hopefully people will settle down and be a little more rational in the coming days. I still think it's likely he hires Elander but I certainly don't know anything. It will be very easy to get a great coach but there is only one Tony V.
I disagree on Elander. I think the natural move if you were going to give Josh the opportunity to get the job permanently, would absolutely be giving him the opportunity to show he could do it in the interim.

We have donors who will pony up for the big sports. Generally, the Big Ten stinks at baseball and softball because of geography although some have decent softball programs. They probably just give up and use more for other sports.
Right. We’ll be behind them. With respect to football $$$. I just hope everyone understands that.

I assume the phone goes both ways. I just think it's silly to assume that DW is the *cause* of the friction. Everyone seems sure that Tony is blameless, DW caused it, and DW didn't fix it. It seems unlikely to me that fault is purely on one side or the other.
Almost assuredly both contributed to the situation.

I’m not happy with either of them.

Also, many of those players signed before the revenue sharing % were determined.
