Why did his name keep getting thrown around? It wasn't just about Sexton. Tony enabled it.

With the A&M news, I’ve lost a little respect for Tony. I wish him well. But Mr. “you’re either a vol or you’re not” can enjoy Cali. Time to move on.

Don't say that in the baseball forum. Anything less than TV needing a statue is blasphemy to some. Appreciate what he did for us, but he's gone now and I don't particularly care what comes of his career. You're either a Vol or you're not.

I just want to know if the rumors or whatever about them giving more to the women’s team is true. Like I get it, but at the same time, that’s gotta be a big kick to the nads especially coming off a national championship.

No, that's not true. The revenue sharing is mandated. What isn't mandated is other spending you could take away from women's bball.

Now, Tony was keeping tabs on how Arkansas was taking the equivalent money from the women's basketball program and funneling it into Baseball.

No, sometimes the fans are lucky. Elander may well become a great coach and DW may end up hiring him, but suggesting that the collective fandom has even a fraction of a clue as to who would be the best coach to replace Tony is a bit of a stretch.

Sure and sometimes ADs are lucky. If you're trying to argue with me IDK where we go from here. I watched ADs hire ****** football coaches that constantly flopped here as well. And basketball coaches and baseball coaches.

I see what your saying but you gotta pay the sports that profit or have the best chance to profit
Also the Lady Vols brand is huge and Kim will have them winning champs again
Baseball being good was a luxury and cost money whereas football you assumes makes money, men’s is above water and lady Vols bball is what our school is known for outside of football
Baseball is probably 5th or farther down the line in the grand scheme of things as far as notoriety goes until the last few years

I'm saying that *we* have an AD who has an extremely good track record with coaching hires. If he chooses not to hire the fan favorite, I have to assume he has a good reason.

Well yea every hire is judged on their ability to win. Kinda the entire point. Prior to Barnes, Heup, and TV it's not like our ADs were doing any better than a random fan with the hiring decisions

Tony is taking a pay cut. I’ll just choose to believe the obvious, that it as more of a dream of his to be in The Show (MLB) than more of a riff raff with our own unless it is proven otherwise.

I know I’m the royal pessimist but I can’t deal with our fans devouring our own with the state our athletics is currently in.

Hope folks can back off the ledge, wish Tony V luck.
