It's also hilarious how many people are just blindly blaming Danny White for the "bad relationship" as if Tony Vitello definitely screams well-adjusted employee. Posters acting like he is Rick Barnes or something lol.

Incredibly difficult to work with and never happy but I think that’s part of what made him great. Never satisfied and obvious huge ego.

Really feel like he is in for a huge rude awakening in the show

Pissed off because he couldn't have bigger NIL budget despite pulling in the top class last year.

Should go well when the analytics team gives him the lineup card or what the bullpen matchups should be.

I'm still 100% on the "TV was taking this job even if he and Danny were tight" train, but him taking a pay cut to go manage SF is wild. And is absolutely indicative of issues he had internally, as have been described. They did a good job of keeping those out of public speculation until he became associated with the SF job.

Unless you were told by someone with a connection, had anyone heard any public chatter of issues between DW and TV prior to TV being linked with this job?

I don't wish him any ill will, but I could see this spectacularly blowing up for him in SF.

This just sucks. He turned me into more of a fan of Tennessee baseball (and the sport more broadly) more than I ever thought I would be. Going to Omaha last year might have been more fun than I've had at any other sporting event I've ever attended.

DW probably sees Elander as a TV guy/ally, since unlike Frank, TV has basically groomed and mentored Elander.

I feel like we've found out a lot about DW over the last week or so, even if TV was taking this job regardless. I'm starting to lean pretty strongly DW goes external, whether it ends up being now or after next season.

And here I was thinking that the biggest concern long-term for baseball was how Tony would replace Frank Anderson when he retires. Damn.

He is a massive celebrity in Knoxville (which he also brings on himself). He will hardly be recognized in San Fran, so it makes sense.

Rumor that some NIL money that was earmarked for baseball was instead diverted to the women's basketball program, with people then insinuating that it's because since Kim was DW's hire, he is going above and beyond to make sure she succeeds.

There's a narrative going around that TV wanted money allocated to the LVs to go to baseball.

I understand the appeal of jumping to the MLB. It is tough for me to see the things TV was great at translating to MLB success though.

I think the LVs should get more NIL than baseball but that's just me.

A top recruit in basketball Men or Women's can be affected by NIL.

IMO, A top HS recruit in baseball your just not going to compete with MLB money.
