Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

If TV stays, he better win big this season.

Fans will have a very short leash/memory
He has won enough for me to excuse any short comings at this point. Why should the standards be so high for Tennessee baseball which only started to matter to Vol nation like ..2 seconds ago?

It's always mattered to the people that love Tennessee Vols Baseball.... I understand you believe football is the only sport at this University but you're wrong....

Ive always enjoyed sport of baseball more than football. Ive been a fan of Atlanta since birth, despite thinking their current product is boring and stale.

Tennessee baseball has until last 7-8 years been a backburner thing. DW and TV have made it enjoyable to follow. Its much more laid back, and fun to watch - for all the right reasons - for baseball. Not for money. And ifs easily accesible. Trying to watch a Braves game takes effort, and I dont the patience or time for that ****.

Peyton manning not being on that list is laughable.
Wilt Chamberlain twice so I'm just giving Peyton one of his spots. Also putting Rapinoe on here when she is like 9th best for the USWNT is a joke when Carli Lloyd isn't listed. She had a hat trick in a world cup final

Serena Williams is an amazing female athlete. Freakish, for length of time she wasnt injured. But having her above Sampras and Federer is a joke. I would have her top 15-20. Certainly would have the Swimmer from the Olympics up there. Herschel, Bo, some of those types.

Quite the opposite. If he stays, the adoration for him will only grow and it likely alleviates pressure on him to win big every year because fans will be thankful he didn’t leave.

Do you think people turned away from Tennessee football during all those years they were non competitive?

Ole Miss and UT are only comparable if OM loses another game. They play OK this weekend. After that, cupcakes.
Ole Miss lost their Super Bowl last weekend in heartbreaking fashion. The game is at Oklahoma. Venables will have a great defensive scout. I think Ole Miss is likely to lay an egg on Saturday.

When you're on the road, in that part of the stadium (absolute loudest), with a QB who's never played there. Yes, take points.

I also like the tone setting, going for broke. Imagine punching it in there. Bama comes back out of halftime not feeling as great.

Run the damn ball.

The 'tide' shifted with INT. Anyway, as tough a learning lesson as could be taught. Learn, move on.
This has probably been pointed out.
You absolutely cannot run it? There’s no time outs left. They tried to run it the play before time out and got stuffed. Throw a jump ball to you 6’5 WR. If you get it great, if not, field goal.

If we run it right there, they probably score easily.

Deboer literally called timeout to tell his team "they will not run the ball here" and pulled guys off the LOS.

So, you can run there. It would just be a gamble, like going for it on fourth down. In retrospect, not as much of a gamble as giving up a 14 point swing.

Never should have been in that situation though. Terrible clock management.

Put another way...

Consider the average person. Then consider that half of all people are dumber than that. Then consider that 10% are way, waaaay, dumber than that.

Then cower in your basement in fear.
The last 5-10 years have actually terrified me...I knew a lot of people were stupid, but I never thought that it was this bad.
