Even Vanderbilt is recognizing the value of athlete over student for pursuing athletic endeavors.

Kids that earn high GPA's and ACT scores should get academic based $$$. Kids with athletic prowess should get athletic $$$.

The average ACT score accepted at Vanderbilt is 35. They have been lowering their standards for athletics for years.

I have a soft spot for baseball guys that have been working their butts off for a quarter of a scholly all these years. NIL eased some of that pain. Not sure what Fulmer's kids paid to attend UT and we have ex coaches kids on teams for years after their Dads were gone. Not sure it really pushes out the average Joe's kid from attending. Could be wrong............

From what I can tell, 95% of crap being spread on social media is false. I think it comes down to "does TV want to try his hand at MLB and are the Giants willing to take the (huge) risk of hiring and overpaying him?" If they do, it would be a fairly unprecedented move by a historically very good baseball franchise.
