Well an announcement needs to happen today. I was suppose to go hog hunting on my Uncles land but I'm just sitting around waiting for the news to drop..

I keep coming back to that and it confuses me. Before anyone floated the idea this could be about revenue sharing, it just didn't make sense to me that Tony would be this bent about it, given the portal haul he just assembled and the recruiting classes last year and the one he's currently assembling make it pretty clear he has the resources he needs. We are stacking #1 classes. We have such great depth at pitcher we are losing bullpen players to other teams as starters. This is about the deepest baseball team I think I've seen in the modern age. Where is our roster lacking? What holes does it have?

Is it possible TV just finds it offensive? Or more likely based on Stoener’s post, a clash of egos and a desire to win even on day to day issues is a factor?

Yes but tickets are $200 to $300 for baseball vs $20 to $30 for LV with a baseball stadium that has 1/3 the capacity. Hard to compare apples to apples obviously as both programs have large upsides.

It is not that hard to figure. Lady Vol basketball draws TV on ESPN. They have more money because of Candace Parker with Addidas. I love Tony and the Baseball team but it has a ways to go to catch the legacy of Lady Vol Basketball. Basketball Men's and Womens is always going to get MORE

FYI - Attendance for TN Baseball this past season was 210,618 whereas Lady Vols Basketball (2024-2025 season) was 181,002. That's about a 15% difference. TN Women's Basketball (2023-2024 Fiscal Year) lost a cool 7 million clams.....AI reports that for the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year TN Baseball did not have an operating loss.

More money should go to TN Baseball - Tony is a generational coach who proved who can actually win championships!

This makes no sense - there is a major difference in the salaries for the coaches of these two sports. They need to figure out how to effectively support both of these sports.

And you really don't want to play this game because Football could make a case to take everything.

True. SEC baseball tv package is extremely undervalued. That will change soon. Caitlin Clark was obviously a HUGE boost for WBB. It will be interesting to see how it trends.

Yep in a true split it would be 95 percent football and 5 percent men's basketball.

I agree someone from the SEC needs to go get that money! Baseball as a whole needs more TV time especially in the SEC world.

It’s kinda odd.. if it was really a done deal and with all the leaks out there one way or the other you would think they would just have announced it by now this morning already.. so I’ll go as far to say he hadn't accepted this job offer Saturday or Sunday for sure

UT would have leaked it because they don't want a coach hanging around for 3+ days that isn't be paid by them. You have to move on quickly.

My view is Lady Vols basketball is going to get their 5 percent really no way for Danny White to prevent it. What he needs to do if he can is find a way to get Tony what he needs it is certainly happening at other SEC baseball schools like LSU and Arkansas.

LSU is having the same problem. Arky? Not so much. They just said no to wbb.

This is not accurate. Or at least not for regular season games. Bought several single game tickets last season for baseball & did not pay anywhere near that.

Secondary market varies but I’m comparing SEC games and I’m directionally accurate. Hard to find actual seats at LNS for under $150 for most SEC games. Last season was a softer market at LNS due to bad weather and being in a construction zone.

Agree. I don’t but the Danny white argument. Tony could coach TN this yr and then go coach a major program next off season.

His agent Sexton could easily put the word out Tony is “interested” hearing offers and numerous programs would come calling.

When you go talking to some of these top rated players and top portal players your always going to be short on money. Just get who you can afford and try to win.

Baseball averaged 5400 a game and women's basketball 10700 a game. I think baseball would be on the rise this season although I think the stadium only holds 6200 so we may need to up that if we get to 6200 this season. Also looks like women's basketball is on the rise could top 12000 this season if they play as expected.

Yes if the women's basketball team started beating everyone - attendance will rise and the top games will probably trend close to capacity

Always is a very long time! I do think Caldwell will be very successful and is making the program very exciting to follow. I’m admittedly biased and think the BaseVols have earned it.

Random speculation is random. He's completed 4 seasons. Ranked in the top 10 twice. Currently has the youngest roster in the sec. You can keep speculating. We all do. The facts don't favor your narrative IMO
