It could be that he doesn't want to be king of the city anymore. I recall him once saying he couldn't have a drink in public because everyone knew who he was.I know someone said that California suits his larger than life personality more, but the more I think about it.. He won't be the king of a city anywhere moreso than he already is here.
Oh, Danny would commit all he needs to commit to get “his guy.”And if DW won’t commit those resources for Tony, he sure isn’t going to commit the resources for Elander.
Finally, a reasonable take on the DW v TV drama and not pointless pot stirring like there is a war happening in the backgroundNo one took money away from baseball and gave it to women's basketball.
The plan for the distribution of revenue was based on the revenue each sport generates for the University. Tony's argument is that baseball is being severly undervalued right now and that the league needs to use their enormous leverage to go back to ESPN and get a better TV deal. He's not even complaining about how much Lady Vols Basketball is getting. He's complaining because baseball's portion of the revenue is based on outdated data that shouldn't apply to the current reality of college sports and the peerless popularity of the SEC.
See above, I'm working on it…Oh, Danny would commit all he needs to commit to get “his guy.”
He would want the next guy to be a successful as Tony, just to show everyone he was right.
Blows my mind that we would offer someone else what we wouldn’t offer Tony.
Of course, you could offer someone else 1.2 million to coach and give them the extra 1.8 for players. “Jimmies and Joes” and all that.
Even I might be able to coach up that team.
O.K. If Tony leaves, Someone tell Danny to give me 1.2 million/yr. 4 yrs, with an extra 1.8m in my budget for players. I am ready to give it a shot.
@chuckiepoo, I am gonna need some VT co-ed pics for the locker room.
That makes sense. But that's not Danny Whites fault or something he can control. No one took money away from baseball and gave it to women's basketball.

Some people can talk themselves into anything.Oh, Danny would commit all he needs to commit to get “his guy.”
