I coach HS baseball players, so naturally I talk to them a lot. All of them are enamored with Tennessee, but it's purely because of Vitello. They don't care about anything else concerning our program. Just Tony.

Couldn't agree more. I grew up a huge baseball fan. But over the years it just became unwatchable for me. I really love and appreciate the enthusiasm that Tony brought to the Vol baseball fans but I can only watch it bits at a time.

As far as all the NIL stuff, I guess I don't understand why it's framed by some as potentially acrimonious. Disagreement? Sure. But that's just life in the big city.

Coaches need to advocate for their programs and what puts them in the absolute best position to compete and win. Athletic directors need to have that conversation with the coach of every program, and resources are finite. There's absolutely no way to keep everyone happy in a zero-sum equation like an athletic department's budget. CTV can absolutely say hey I'm not here to do more with less, here's what it's going to take to win consistently. Not just keep him, but win consistently. Facilities, players, coaching staff... all of it. And Danny White can factor that into trying to win everything, in all sports. He earns his paycheck too, couldn't pay me enough, I've got enough ulcers But I'm 100% sure White's aware that baseball has delivered titles already, and that's a big factor. Anyway, it's a minor point, but maybe worth making that maybe not seeing eye to eye doesn't necessarily mean not getting along. They're both adults in high stakes gigs.

I have been saying that repeatedly but the response is well several recruits/commits speak highly of Elander.... Thats great if they speak highly of Elander but they did not commit to Elander - it's freaking Tony Vols they have come here for!
